Have '05 WDP Safe In Garage
First post and want to say thanks to all for helping me decide on a new 05 TL. I picked up my 05 WDP/Parchment/AT/Navi today and have it safely tucked away in my garage. I added the 18" Chrome-like Acura wheels with Goodyear F1 GS D3 tires. The total package really came out quite nice. Hope to have pics by the weekend.
Hope this is not a bad omen - I noticed that the cover to the third brake light is hanging. Not sure how to properly secure it, will have to take it back to the dealer to fix. I brought a buddy of mine to help look over the vehicle and I can not believe we missed this. I wish I would have looked at this thread for a detailed checklist before picking up the car:

I was not as detailed as wallaceoh but I was close. The whole process from the car being delivered to the dealer to me picking up the car took a full week. I secured my own financing (I work for a large credit union) and put down a large amount of cash for the remaining balance. Because of this, I would not allow the dealer to pull a credit report nor did I fill out an application for a "backup" loan. This required the dealer to verify funds for the cashiers checks that I gave to them which delayed the process. No big deal, I was willing to wait as long as it took. The dealer (specifically the GM) on the other hand, was not thrilled by me not following the norm.
As wallaceoh pointed out, I would not let any detail slide. Every detail on the paperwork was read and read again by myself. I would not let them leave any blanks on any forms and questioned every little thing that I did not like or understand. It took four tries to create the Purchase Order before I was satisfied. (It bothered me on the first three tries that the "Amount Owed" figure on the very bottom line would not show 0.00 (or blank) since I paid the car in full and all funds were verified).
I have been a BMW owner since 1999. I purchased a 323i new that year and still have (and love) the car. With a second daughter on the way and the fact that the car has 120,000 miles on it, I decided it was time for a new purchase to something with a bigger back seat and (hopefully) close to the same performance as the 3 series.

Congrats on the car. I have had mine for a week and love it. As far as the third brake light cover: I had my windows tinted earlier in the week and they did not get it back in place correctly. At night when I hit the brake the entire back lit up in red. I took it back and found the cover is held in place by 4 tabs. If you push the cover towards the roof, it should snap back in place. I was scared to try it, but it worked and it is totally sealed and in place.
Post pics of your car, I would like to see how your wheels look.
Good Luck!!

Thanks for the detailed buyer's report. It serves as yet another reminder on what to do before buying. Don't worry, no one's perfect. Those chrome wheels do look pretty good....

Trance, great news and congrats on the car!! You're going to love it. As I mentioned, the list was overkill, but I'm glad it helped put you in the right frame of mind. The wheels look great! The car looks awesome!

I have the same car but with the A-spec kit. I was contemplating on getting the chrome-like 18 inch wheels because I didn't know how the wheels might look on a Pearl car, but after checking your car out the wheels are nice. Definatrely getting them now. How much were the wheels and tires?

I'm glad the dealer didn't give me a choice between the old a-spec wheels and the new chome ones; I'm not sure which I would have picked. I think they both look great.

Has anyone purchased the A-spec wheels off of ebay? I want to make sure if its safe and will they be a chance my wheels might be used if I buy them having scratches on them. I dont want to risk dishing out $1,200 dollars getting messed up wheels or no wheels at all. Any suggestions will be great, thanks .
