Talking Hate to leave you guys, but.....

I will be receiving my G37s towards the end of this week (as its being shipped in from up north).

I do not really post a lot here but I am an near-addicted reader and want to thank each and every one of you for your posts. Needless to say I have learned some cool a$$ stuff being a member here (with mods I never would have considered, I.E. mid muffler removal).

For all those who may be wondering, I had been putting serious consideration into a 4g TL, 328i, or G37 sedan. After a full month of test driving and researching, I went with the Infiniti (every option but all wheel drive and Rosewood trim).

Again, much love and best of luck to you guys! I will come back soon to give a 30 day "IMO" 3G vs G37s comparison

Sweeeet dude that is EXACTLY what I want to do!

The G37s is such a nice car. It already comes looking soo nice theres really not alot of mods you would want to do. I already have plans for my future G37, light drop, powercoat wheels, paint calipers, and intake.. hahaha

Did you get auto or stick?

Congratz on the car, I opted against the G35 sedan/g37 because my brother inlaw has one, and a coworker had a g37 and their fuel economy is way to low in my opinion.

other than that, they are fantastic cars, enjoy

The G37 fuel economy should now be on par with the 3G TL thanks to the 7speed auto and the car not reving at 3k RPMs when doing 75mph on the highway like the G35 did. This is a great car and IMO a much better car than the 4G TL in terms of looks, performance and value. Acura really went backwards in many respects with the 4G TL. Someone over there must have been drinking some kool aid.

the BMW 328i IMO is a toy in comparison to the G37. Its way overrated, too small on the interior, too stiff in steering, and too slow to accelerate.

Good luck!

I went with the auto, I drove the 08 G35 sedan with a stick and then the 09 7spd auto, and oddly the auto felt quicker. Plus the shifter paddles are really fun to use.

I went with Silver on Black with the Washi silver trim. I've always owned silver cars with no regrets.

I'll definitely be back for an update for all those who may be considering a similar move to give them some feedback on nit picky stuff with every day driving.

Lastly, anyone possibly weighing a G37 (or even 4G TL) against a bimmer, just wait until you start checking option boxes and see how 'confident' the Bovarians get with their pricing..... ouch.

the 7spd is like a tuned down version of the GTR tranny. infiniti is really giving a lot of car makers a run for their money

ummmm that is probably because the 08 was a g35 and the 09 was a g37?

lol.. -FAIL-.. although performance wise the '08 G35S is just about par with the G37. The G37 tops in HP but ft-lb/tq is almost the same.. a lot reviews match the 7-sp A/T with M/T.

How is that a fail? the vq37 has a flatter power curve than the 35. You also have a 7 speed tranny as opposed to the 6 speed, meaning closer ratios - allowing you to get into the peak power range faster/easier and keeping you there. I never said the 37 is faster, but it probably feels faster. It might be slightly faster once it gets rolling though.

huh? I was just commenting on the comparison of two different gens. You're right though. I haven't had the pleasure of driving either but I sat in the G35S and boy that's nice.. the creature comfort of the G35S made the IS, TL and 3 series feel like 2nd class. The only thing that I was more comfortable in was the LS. I'm definitely looking forward to a review from a long time A-ziner.

I wonder how the Hyundai Genesis Coupe will match up against the G37? Yeah I know, at the end of the day, its still a Hyundai.

Funny thing, is the hyndia is't faster then the 37 with it's big v8, lol well thier are alot of v8 that aren't faster then the 37, Charger R/T, 300C, mustang Gt, and more. Imo i wouldn't take that hyndia if i had to pick a 4G TL, or that.

congrats
for the rest of you, how important is speed to you and how important should it be to you? i think the g37s has a lot to offer, however i just believe the TLs are a much better looking car on the outside. it may sound lame to some but i mean if i decided to get a fast car it wouldnt be a TL nor a g37. anyhow, not hating on your selection because the g37s do look nice, but just food for thought

Well Here's Edmunds Stats (and C&D in parenthesis):
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/hyun...125/specs.html
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...cs+page-2.html

Hyundai Genesis / V6 Sedan
0-60: 6.3s (6.0s)
Slalom: 62.8
Lat-G: 0.83g (0.86g)
60-0: 117ft

The coupe comes in the same V6 or turbo-4 (220hp). I don't expect the coupe to be any different in performance. The V8 trim is slightly quicker and stops slightly shorter. Not bad especially for a car that comes in almost $10k less then the competition.. and has 100k mile powertrain warranty!
