Green or Black TL

Green or Black TL
I know that black is hot, but I have a dillema. I have three black vehicles which I will be keeping when I order a 2005 TL shortly. I was definetly going to order the black but have been reconsidering. Has anyone seen a green TL on the street. I have seen them on the dealer lot but never on the road. In fact, I have not even seen one on the lots for months. I have seen the survey of colors forum members have and green seems to be the second least popular. Has anyone seen the green in different light on the road and what is your impression? Honest opinions are appreciated. Thanks for your help.

I will never purchase another black vehicle again after my GS430 black is the hardest color to keep clean and after awhile swirls start showing really bad despite waxing which helps to a certain degree.

While I was down in CA for training recently there was a Green/Camel/6MT/Nav/HPT TL parked in my hotel's parking lot for several days. Looked great! Almost made me reconsider my ABP (almost...) at home. I drooled on it each time I had to get into my POS econobox rental car.
But I agree with acura driver - it's all about what you like. Get the color you want, not one just to be different.

I have a green TL. Awesome color; it doesn't look like the green "minty" color on the website at all. It's a deep rich almost hunter green. It's very similar in color to the anthracite. At night it looks black and in the sunlight it shows it's rich hue.
I love black cars, but don't want to deal with the maintenance of keeping it clean. Black cars get dirty the second you start driving it around. With a parchment interior and some faux wood, your deep green pearl car will look terrific.

Black is an awesome color if you can keep it clean. The reflections you get from a detailed black car are amazing. It requires more of your time and care but man, when its clean, it stands out like a motherfu*ker!!!

I loved the green the moment I saw it - it has flecks of many colors in its mettallic, and it color shifts subtly depending on time of day and angle of the sun. It is dark enough to show the benefits of good detailing, is not like 99% of the other cars on the road, and will not require as much attention as black, which i also like a lot. But since this car sits out during the daytime, things like waterspotting become a real issue for me, and a black car is the worst in this regard, because of the retained heat in the paint.
As for whether it is popular or not, I could care less.
Everyone who has seen my car has first commented on the color, all in the positive. I think down the road the DGP will gets its props.

I appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks. I am not concerned about the popularity of the color if I like it. The problem is that I have only seen the green on the dealer's lot sitting beside other TL's. It may be me, but until I see something on the street in motion, in different lighting I just can't get a sense of how much I like a color.

bfogarty,
Ask DMZ, he has a Deep Green color w/Camel Interior...Very sharp. Go to the dealer and see it in person, you will like it. Two colors that is nice ----Abyss Blue Pearl or Deep Green, both with Camel Interiors.

Green?? If I wanted a green car, I'd get a Buick or Pontiac. The 04 TL needs a sportier color to match its enthusiasm, styling and panache. If you have black, why not get anthracite or silver?

When originally shopping, I saw what I first thought was Anthracite an in a showroom. Upon closer inspection, I discovered it was the DGP! It's really a combination of silver-grey-green. Very sharp and UNIQUE. A day doesn't go by without my hearing someone say"Nice Car!".

Holy shit that paint has some mirror shine to it
I say black - sexy, classy, hot.
Green cars - name a green painted car that has aged well in terms of looks. Green cars tend to look older and dated faster then any color I know. Dont know why.

I have the Green and love it ('04 6mt, navi).
As for the Black being harder to keep clean, i totally disagree.
The people who go all out for keeping their car clean and protectin their paint should love the black and here is why...
A black car shows the crap attacking your paint faster then it shows up on other cars...do you really believe the color of the paint attracts more dirt/dust/etct ?? Of course not, it just shows you earlier that you need to clean up and protect your paint.
You have an advantage over the person that doersn't know their paint is dirty, take that advantage and Zaino your baby!

I'm not sure if this matters a lot to you at all, but the black will be much easier to sell when that time comes. The green may look nice (I haven't seen one in person), but the traditional black, white, silver colors will always be much easier to sell. But if resale doesn't concern you...go with your gut!

green and gold are the ugliest colors out there by far.
i've seen @ the dealer and on the road, equally ugly.
the blue is pretty hot, especially w/ gray interior if you need to get a color, and easier to keep clean than black.

it doesn't attract more of anything, it just SHOWS everything. including swirls. i'll never get black again - it looks great if you spend the time making it shine, but it shows all the imperfections.

Re: the green color, it's nice, but I'll have to agree with one of the other members that said green cars don't age well. A good example is the first generation Lexus SC... still beautiful in black and white, dated in green.
