Great Dealership Customer Service

Long Story....Also, this is completely unsolicited. This is just my opinions.

I bought my 08TL CPO in mid May. The car drove well when I test drove it. The engine felt smoother then another one I drove with far less miles. Overall it was a good deal.

There was a bent wheel on the passenger's side front when I looked at the car and I asked that it be replaced. They fussed but eventually replaced the wheel. On the drive home I heard a strange noise from the tires. Turned out that the rear tires were cupped slightly and another wheel was bent on the inside. After fighting with the dealership they offered to cut me a check for 2 of the tires but refused to do anything about the wheel. Basically they told me to go pound sand.

I contacted Acura Customer Service and while they agreed that the bent wheel and cupped tires are items that should have been handled when the car was certified since it is on the checklist they said that they could not force the dealership to do anything.

Needing to replace the wheel I decided to go to Jones Acura in Lancaster PA. Didn't want to give any money to the place I purchased the car.

About a week after I had the wheel replaced I got a call from the Service Manager. He had discussed my situation with his Acura Field Rep and both agreed that it was BS what the other dealership did in this case. He was calling to get my address to refund my money for the wheel.

Was my response. This was amazing customer service to me. I know there are some Azine members living in central PA. I have had great service from Jones. They were also the dealership that detected the bent wheel.

If anyone wants to know the name of the dealership that sold me the car please PM me. I do not recommend them at all. Other things that they failed to do included changing the air filter and cabin air filter. Just minor crap that showed their level of work.

Cliff Notes -

Read the thread. It's not too bad.

That is amazing to hear! That is what you call great service! If you have a chance, call up Acura Client Services and tell them that this other dealership treated you so well while the other one told you to go take a hike! Word will make it back to the dealership and it'll put a smile on their faces!

I didn't know things like this happened at stealerships......It was a pleasant change from the seemingly endless stories about members being gouged for simple services like the A1.

Or cupped tires, or dirty filters.

I think they the major mechanical stuff like brakes, suspension, battery was replaced, all the electrical was working. I think the minor things they thought they can get away with.

Wtf dude, only bitches get 22s. You've gotta get 24's or higher with a +0 offset to be considered man status.

But in all seriousness I'm happy your car is what it SHOULD have been when purchased. You've had the TL for a few months now, what's your overall opinion of it? Any likes or dislikes? Planning on getting those windows tinted?

2 months and 8000 miles. I like it. Very fun to drive. I love the responsiveness and handling of the car. Comfort is above average.

The biggest complaint I have is 5th gear at 1400-1600 RPMs.

I have also been fighting with tire issues. I have had 3 sets of tires on the car since I owned it. It came with Hankook Ventus that were cupped. I got Continental DWS and they were loud and had a harmonic tone to the noise. Now I have General UHP's which are fine tires. Low noise, no harmonic tones like the DWS, but since they are no good below 40F I am having them replaced with Michelins this Friday. Hopefully that will put an end to this issue.

Part of this issue is that I am spoiled by the I35 I had before this. That car and the tires were really comfortable and quiet.

I will eventually get the windows tinted. Just haven't found the time to do it. And I am waiting for KaMLuNg to tell me where his hook up in Jersey is.

^^^^

When I lived in Jersey I took my CLs to Springfield Acura on Rt22. A lot of people bashed them but I always had killer service from them. They practically replaced everything major on my CL with the exception of the motor and never once gave me a tough time.

All experiences are not great, but I feel when you do have one it is good to share.

I really liked the Bridgestone RE960 AS that were on my car. They were really quiet and seemed to handle well...I don't drive aggressively though.

I do not drive very aggressive anymore. I am getting the Michelin Primacy MXM4. Rated well on Tirerack.

Those were actually the OEM tires that came with the cars (with navigation) from the factory! They wear fairly well (30K average) and are fairly quiet and grip well for a Grand Touring Tire.

I found my DWS's to be very quiet and not make a noise. The Bridgestone 960 Pole Positions I had were much noisier than those, and the MX4M's were fairly quiet as well but didn't have the grip that the DWS do.

I thought the OE tires were the Pilot HX MXM4.

I really think I just had a bad lot of DWS. I just was done dealing with the shop. I actually decided that even though the set of tires included lifetime balance and rotation, the shop is out of the way and they are fucking incompetent when it comes to balancing that I will just use them if I am in the area.

I can rotate my own tires and if I need them balanced I would rather pay someone that knows how to do it right.

They have a Hunter with Roadforce and every time I leave their shop I have to go back or go to my local BJs with an old static balancer and they do a much better job.
