Got pulled over.... by a djck head trooper

Was driving home to Mississippi from Memphis, TN and cruised 70 mph on a 65 mph highway for about 10 minutes in the left lane. Another car going the same pace was to the right lane two car lengths ahead of me. This was around 9:40 pm at night.

All of a sudden I see blue lights flashing when I had no idea there was any cars behind me. It was a black male state trooper. He said he paced me at 80 mph and said I was going 78 mph. I was like wtf to him. I told him I was cruising exactly 70 mph and in pace with the other car in front of me. He said "Are you calling me a liar because I am a very intelligent man and I clearly coasted you going 80 mph"

"I was not going 78 mph as you said. I am standing up for myself as to what is right and what is wrong and I know for a fact I was cruising at 70" I argued back. We argued back and forth for 10 minutes. He kept saying he gives numerous tickets and all tickets that go to court he always wins so there is no use in arguing who is right and who is wrong." After that he requested my license and insurance.

Ten minutes later he came back with a ticket in his hand. He said "Look I came to you and was just going to tell you to slow down and had no intention of giving you a ticket, but because of this heated arguement, I have no choice"...so he flashed me the ticket and showed what he wrote on there: speeding 78 on a 65 and to the right of the 65 he wrote a 70 and circled it. On the bottom he wrote "paced going 80". He filled all my information out and again we argued for another 10 minutes.

During the arguement he folded the ticket and handed me the drivers license. He said he is a very intelligent guy and know we are college students and don't want to give anyone a hard time. I still tried to prove my point to him that I did not go 78 mph like he said. And this is at night and there's no way he can pace me with a definite distance when he cant see at night. He finally said " Look, did I give you the ticket yet? Is the ticket in your hand? Then I realized he never handed me the ticket but only wanted to scare me. What a douchesbag. He smiled and said Have a good night and drive safe.

Cops always wanting to fuck with citizens when they know they are wrong. He even admitted that cops can mess with folks and still win in court and there is really nothing you can do about it. But he said he is not one to mess with anyone cuz he is a great man.

My ass he is!

So, is your IQ below 80 or were you intentionally stupid??

You open the windows, turn on the interior lights, put your hands on the wheel, pull out ID slowly when asked, and respond courteously when spoken to but otherwise SHUT THE HELL UP!

I'm a lawyer; please wire me $250 for the foregoing advice so your ass is not tazed and dragged off to jail next time.

Regardless, this is VERY good advice for anyone. These guys got enough to worry about without wondering if this is *the* traffic stop that some nut is going to pull a gun on them.

Better get your speedo checked jsut in case.

You can use a portable Navi with instantaneous speed display to cross check the speedo as well.

As long as he didn't give you any ticket, I wouldn't call him a douchebag at all.

couldn't agree more. when was time you saw cops fight criminals? stuffs like that are on TVs only. those morons are too chicken to deal with criminals, so they mess with good citizens and make extra bounus by writing tickets.

Cop gave me a warning a few weeks ago (instead of ticket) and i shook his hand and thanked him.

Wouldnt call a guy a douche when he saves you a $100+ court fee
