Goodbye TL!!!!

Well, it has happened. On Thursday I traded my TL in.

We had our first child back in September. I realized I needed something bigger and "family style" to act as a back up to her RAV4.

After much debating, I ended up with a 2011 Toyota Venza Limited with 15K on the clock. Its a V6 with DUBs. Here's a stock photo of my exact car. Of note, I've had it 3 days, and I already tinted the front windows and tailights. I have yellow fogs, a K&N and H&R springs incoming from Amazon.

Future plans are the 2013 grille (which is a drop in). and some 22" next Summer 2014. I am gonna make it as nice as possible for a family crossover.

I got $10,500 for my TL, which is $1500 over Carmax, and 1.9% on the new car. Worked out really well.

There are SO many things I will miss about my TL... The looks, the class, the DRIVE. The reliability also. Best car I have ever had. I really mean that.

But life moves on... My son is worth it.

Tell me some hilarious story about why you picked a fucking Venza out of everything else Toyota makes.

I'd rather have a Venza over a Rav-4. I definitely think i'd choose a Highlander over a Venza though. Who cares, as long as the OP and his family are happy.

Congrats on your son! Hopefully you like the Venza, and it seems like it might be the utility car for you. You have to do right for the child's sake.

Because I liked it.... It was between that and a zdx, but the back seats in the ZDX weren't any better than my TL. Had to think of the fam, and the venza drove a little more sporty than the highlander and my wife has a RAV4.

Not that I really care about defending my decision to you, or how you feel about the Venza.

BTW the dealer is gonna sell my TL. If anyone wants a lead on a CLEAN TL ASPEC with 88K miles with zero problems, PM me for the info. Would love to see the TL go to a loving owner...

The ZDX is a great car but the Venza is most certainly a better decision with a youg baby. Nice looking pick up imo.

Guess you failed to realize that the TL has the best crash ratings and one of the safest cars on the road as far as crash testing goes.

But to each his own.

Just find it funny how people have their 1st kid and think they need a huge vehicle. I have 5 kids and manage with an 03 odyssey with 210k on the clock and my TL which kids are not allowed in haha.

But looks good and congrats on the kiddo. They are awesome, enjoy every moment you can with him as they grow up quickly.

Tell me some stupid story about why you're so butt-hurt over OP buying a fucking Venza. It's not like you're paying for it.

Congrats on the new car OP

I woulda gotten a MDX or even a RDX. Both better cars then the TL/Venza family wise.

Nonetheless, congrats on the son and car!

Congratulations! New car....terrific. New son... AMAZING!

Just had to commiserate with you. I sold my '06 TL (anthracite gray with beige interior) yesterday. It was an amazing car. I've put no money into it except for a battery and new tires. I sold it because I need a wagon/SUV for two dogs and two grand kids. (Have a '95 Legacy Wagon that has 225,000).

I don't know what can replace my TL. I had planned on an Outback, but the number of disappointed people, the number of brake jobs, rods, gaskets has turned me off. The RDX is great but too expensive and doesn't have good cargo space. The TSX seems to have had some problems. I'm leaning towards a CR-V, but it will be a come-down.

You've got some wonderful years ahead of you. Enjoy your baby.

Thank you so much for the kind words!!! Have you looked at the ZDX? Space wise, it may be perfect for your situation and is certainly unique. Plus try can be had for 50% off new with 10-15k miles. Also check out the v6 rav4. They are real quick; surprisingly so.

It's definitely a nice car and those Toyota engines are fun to drive hard. With an intake it will sound great too. If you could get it to sound like this, that would be awesome!

The H&R springs and K&N filter came in Wednesday afternoon. only 1.4" front and 1.3" rear, but I have read that they are actually closer to 2".

Should improve the look and drive A LOT. It already has decent power, but handles like, well, a Venza! Body roll is much less that I would have thought though.

Congrats on the little one. That's the reason I sold my ITR and am shopping for a TL. Wife already has an 06 Odyssey, but I've been asked to get a 4 door and read that TL's are pretty safe.

They're VERY safe. If I wasn't 6'3 320 I'd still have it!!

I really miss my TL. I'm glad I have a lot of pics.
