Good Deal?
hey all,
looking to get a TL... I found a 2007 Type S for $16k shipped...
It has a salvage title due to front end damage....
Do you guys think it is worth it for $16k?
The seats are ripped but can be fixed...
I am trying to get it out of state but I don't know if the car will have any issues... The dealership promise that the car runs great and is fine... any suggestions?
If anyone is local where the dealership is, I am willing to pay them to check out the car for me. The car is in PA state... Thank You

how long are you planning on keeping it?
also- you can hire an independent service that is local to where the vehicle is to check the car out.

i am planning to keep it for 3-4 years
and I would... but I trust azine members since they drive the car themself and would see if theres any damage or antyhing...
but if last option is a independent service then I will have to do that...
any company you recommend?

Pictures look okay but that's only pictures. Have someone check it out for you, a buddy/shop/azine member/etc.
Plan on keeping the car for a long time if you buy it, re-selling it would be very difficult because of the salvage title. The price is awesome though!

Salvage title or not, I wouldn't buy the car based on how piss poor condition the interior is in. And the engine compartment. And there's something wrong with the speedometer bezel.
I wouldn't buy it based on the fact that the previous owner used Armor-All on the interior.

The interior does look worn. Nothing that can't be replaced or detailed to make look new. The engine bay does look extremely dirty, but again, could just use a good cleaning, and there are two different tires. Other than that, I guess it all depends on how it runs.

it's a good deal but it's not worth your money. the rims are scratched up, the spedo is scratched up, the leather obviously has been neglected, the engine cover thing appears to have scratches on it (to me that shows the cover was forced off from the accident and skidded on the pavement). not worth your time IMO...BUT it's your call

^^^ Those arent scratches on the speedo. All it is is crappy interior spray that got on the clear plastic. Its cleanable. For some reason the carpet looks like its all faded im not sure if thats just because the camera flash or something, but it just loooks weird. How someone manages to destroy seats on a 2007 car is beyond me.
Basically, it looks like with a little TLC that car can be brought back to looking very clean.
Only thing is that car isnt gonna be worth sqaut in 3-4 years so be prepaired for that. If you dont mind taking a hit on price down the road, and dont mind putting in some time and money to clean her up then go for it. Just make sure the thing dont drive sideways down the road before you drop 17K on it.
Another thing is, for maybe 5-6K more you can probably find a higher mileage Type S with a clean history. I dunno just a thought.

from the looks of it I will go ahead and ask if I get the car what will he do to it. But anyone in PA willing to go check it out for me? I'll pay for gas money, service, and pictures...
