I have recently parted with my 2008 Acura TL Type S WDP Ebony and just recently purchased a 2015 Lexus IS350 F Sport AWD Ultra White on Rioja Red! It's been real and I'm gonna miss y'all and my beloved UA7 :bawling::bawling::hug:

dezymond 06-13-2015 02:04 AM

Seems to me alot of former 3G owners move onto Lexus. Congrats on the new car and hope you enjoy it.

NBP04TL4ME 06-13-2015 05:22 AM

Congrats and best of luck with your new chariot

erdoc48 06-13-2015 07:43 AM

Nice upgrade, but I guess my only question is why? Your TL-S was a really stunning car and you indicated in your build thread it had low miles when you got it 1 year ago.

EddieOnAZ 06-13-2015 08:48 AM

That was indeed a very clean TL, why did you decide to move on?

Gorgeous Lexus though :yum:

truonghthe 06-13-2015 10:32 AM

congrats, if I in the market for upgrade I would also go for the IS350 F sport or the GS350 F sport model. Acura is death to me now, no sporty or a good design been seen since the 3g TL.

Yea that is true bro, probably cause it's the only Japanese brand that is comparable to Acura's quality and reliability! Thanks!

Thanks guys! So the reason why I chose to part with the TL-S (even though I didn't want to)is because 1st. I was able to sell it to get most of the 6k DP that I put down on the car, back to my savings account. Second, I got a bomb ass deal leasing the Lexus, and didn't have to put any money down except for security deposits to put my interest close to 0% and I will get all of it back at the end of the please. And the Lexus is a brand new car which means better technology and warranty  I wanted to sell the TL-S to people I know, but none of them were ready to purchase a car immediately :(
Anyways, here's my numbers for leasing the Lexus if anyone's wondering. I did good negotiating with them :toocool:
2015 IS350 F Sport AWD Ultra White on Rioja Red Leather with BlindSpotMonitoring, Nav, Accesory Package, etc. No Mark Levinson Sound system though.
MSRP $49,880
Negotiated Selling Price $44,000
Rebate: $500
Term: 27months/10k
Residual: $34,980
Money Factor: .00001 =(0% APR)(7 MultipleSecurityDeposits put down, total of $2450, which I will get all back at the end of lease)
Monthly Payment: $337/month !!
NO MONEY DUE AT SIGNING AT ALL
They paid for all my acquisition fee, doc fee, dealer, FIRST MONTH, etc.

truonghthe 06-13-2015 11:01 AM

you did good for a lease, however I find the seat in the IS kinda small. I do agree with you that Lexus has superior customer service than Acura.

shownfu 06-13-2015 12:05 PM

Wow. $337 month? Wish I could land a deal like that.

ggesq 06-13-2015 12:07 PM

She's a beaut! Congrats on the IS.

Steven Bell 06-13-2015 12:25 PM

We'll miss you, Pete. It's nice to see that you wore a suit in your Type S picture but a t-shirt with your Lexus!

96SC4 06-13-2015 12:41 PM

nice! congrats! awesome color combo...
i'll be making same switch as well, when the time comes... just a GS F-sport, instead of IS

The 5th gen GS comes out end of this year, so the 4th gen prices will drop a lot, I'm guessing.
Will probably take the plunge next spring/summer

enjoy!

CLtotheTL32 06-13-2015 12:46 PM

Congrats! The IS350 is a fantastic car. Be sure to download and register the Enform Remote ;)

dj5 06-13-2015 12:56 PM

Very nice looking car. I stopped and looked at the same color combo on a RCF on Saturday. Waiting to see what the GS F looks like and will be making the move over to Lexus within the next year or so. The new TLX is just too plain Jane. Acura needs a Type S version to keep the enthusiast from leaving the brand. Congrats on the new ride. The white really looks great.

pics of the GS-F are out already
doesn't look too much different from current 4th gen

and i agree, the new TLX just doesn't do it for me either :whyme:

SlowLane 06-13-2015 01:25 PM

The IS looks great. Congratulations.

cacheflowe 06-13-2015 08:02 PM

congrats on your new IS... she's beautiful! my wife was also looking at the IS for her next car. if only lexus had cars with manual transmissions.. =/

I know absolutely zero about leases - is the money factor essentially the rate that your monthly payment is calculated on?

337/month for 27 months is 9099. Add that to the 34980 residual and you're only at 44,079.

I always wondered how people drove around in 50K cars all the time. That car would cost nearly 1100/month on a 4 year loan with no money down.

Normally I'd say a lease is a way to lose money, but even after 27 months, your residual is around what a 2013 IS350 is selling for now, so it's as if you put 9K down over two years and got to drive the car. Granted, I guess if you don't buy out the residual, you lose that cash, but driving a 50K car for 337/month aint a bad deal at all!

anx1300c 06-13-2015 09:55 PM

Sweet IS 350. Was behind a grey one a few days ago and was admiring it. It's getting really high praise in the handling department compared to the last generation. I was a little disappointed to see they didn't raise the power though.

Technically, $43,742 cause first month was all paid for  But yes, leasing can also be a way to drive an expensive for a couple years or so. The way I see it is, even if you finance a car, you will lose those monthly payments you made. When I sold my Type S, I got most of my DP back in equity, but none of my payments of course. I was able to get my monthly payment this low because I know how to count leases with the residual and money factor. They originally gave me a monthly payment of $525/month, then negotiated, and said $480 'was the lowest and best they could do', but then was still able to get $337 :pbnj:

FamilyGuy 06-14-2015 10:19 AM

Great deal dude congrats!

There are pros and cons to everything. You're basically renting the car from Lexus. And it's limited use - 10k miles a year, otherwise you will pay per mile if you drive more than that.

You can get GS350 and do not have to negotiate.

2015 Lexus GS350 w/ Navigation Lease Special

Dunnik 06-15-2015 01:27 AM

Aw, sorry to see you go but clearly you've not only stepped into a better car (as much as it pains me to admit) you got a pretty killer deal on it. Enjoy!

But you'll probably be back in like, 10 years, because you miss your TL and it's reached modern classic status. =P

thoiboi 06-15-2015 10:19 AM

Gorgeous car!! I would leave my WDP TYpe S for that car too! Congrats

aIRpeACE 06-15-2015 10:33 AM

nice upgrade. congrat

raginraj11 06-15-2015 05:22 PM

nice Lexus, my gf is in the market for this same car and color combo

millafied 06-17-2015 07:52 PM

Nice ride! But no way I could keep it at 10,000 miles a year.

AlanW 06-18-2015 08:16 AM

I think this thread just points out how Lexus has expended it's line-up with several models focusing on performance & styling, while Acura seems happy to sit there with like only 6 or 7 mostly blandly styled models and sell SUVs to housewives & older people (er, like me I guess)

I will say this, Acura is selling the shit out of those MDXs & RDXs, you can't swing a dead cat around the good sections of town without hitting an Acura SUV

ExcelerateRep 06-18-2015 09:27 AM

Congratulations. Awesome looking new ride

You do not lose the monthly payments when you purchase a car. You are gaining equity in your car with each payment, along with incurring some interest costs. It's just the fact that for your case, the depreciation rate of your car equaled your monthly payment rate. Don't think that is the case in every scenario.

cust0mx 06-25-2015 10:13 AM

$337/month + full coverage insurance = ~$500/month? I know everyone's financial situation is different, but that seems like a waste of money to me on a car you won't even own. Great looking car though

I like the Lexus cars but everyone has one, there are 4 white is350f sports and 1 gray one on my short block about 25 houses they are getting so common they just just don't have the wow value that they had when new, now they are like an accord to me, I see 10 of them every time I drive. but they are nice cars for sure.

And now I must hate you for selling the TYPE-S LOL

Money factor is the interest of the lease. To convert, it's 0.00001 x 24= 0.024%APR

Learn how to count lease payments. Negotiate Sales Price First. Tell them you want to lease afterwards. You will have control by then.

My equity was 1grand away from the dp I put. My payment was only $275, so I believe the depreciation was faster than my already low payments. But thats cause I put 20k in one year on the car. Yea it's different for everyone.
