Going to get the Acura Extended Warranty but have a conern about 6k or before
Guys, I plan to make a decision in the next week to purchase the extended warranty for my 06 TL. I plan to get the Acura covered one and not a aftermarket company. Now my question is, on Tim's site, it shows 6k and under for 5-8 year 120k max warranties.
I am at 5400 miles now so I am on the verge on passing 6k. If I pass 6k and use the money to pay off a bill that I should pay off anyways, what penalties will happen if I wait and get it at a later time?
I thought about getting the 8 year one but not sure just yet.
Thanks.

i also bought the 8 year 120k mile warranty. i pricematched to pohanka as tim's site is in my state, so i would have had to pay tax.
i have a tsx so i think it was around $1300.
i had claims of $4000 on a $600 warranty (6 yr/75k) on my 99 corolla, but havent used it yet on my 2001 odyssey (7 yr/100k). will be trading in the van next year anyway.

I went onto www.curryacuracare.com for my 04 TL w/ 33300 miles, and it quoted me
until 11/7/2010 or 81300 miles, $1380
or 11/7/2011 or 93300 miles $1580
So in reality there are no penalties to buy the extended warranty at a later time.

If you guys could please post the results of the PM/lowest price search, that would be much appreciated. I am in the Chicago area with an 04 with ~35k miles, and I spent a few hours last night calling all the local dealerships. I still find it funny that there is such a variance in price for such a standardized thing. But in any event I could post the local prices if anyone is interested. Thanks all

Sorry to double post...but this thread motivated me to call Ray Laks. Tim was super helpful, and it was really refreshing to get some clear facts about this topic from a friendly person. Thanks Tim.
