GM syncromesh fliud FM for differential?
I got an 04 TL 6MT.
My GM syncromesh FM came in. Will be doing the tranny fluid change soon after I get the new clutch in.
I believe currently, it's recommended to use the new Acura MTF (Z1?) in the differential.
Is it a good idea to put the GM stuff in there?
Or should I use something like this.

This is done for two reasons: to save space (as there is very little to begin with in a FWD setup) and, because the axles are so close to the transmission to begin with, there is no need to "turn" the drive from the engine a second time as required in the usual RWD setup.
All you need to do is drain the transmission fluid and refill with the GM fluid (or Honda's MTF / whatever MT fluid you end up going with) and you'll be all set. Do not use differential fluid in the transmission though! 75W-90 is too thick for the TL's transmission and will most likely damage it one way or another. GM fluid should be fine, but Redline and Amsoil also make good MT fluids. Personally I run GM SMFM without any issues.

My transmission was having problems going into 3rd gear with Acura OEM fluid, so I switched to GM Syncromesh FM and now it shifts perfect. Haven't had a problem since I switched a year ago. I ordered from http://www.gmpartsonline.net for $8.91 a quart.

The funny thing is when I lived in Palm Beach and went to pick up the fluid the parts guys even asked what kind of Honda I had. He said only people who buy it are Honda/Acura owners.

I just picked up some at the chevy dealer this evening. We have a new buick enclave and i already butchered one of the overhead lamps to install LEDs so I needed a new lamp housing. While I was there, I picked up some of the AC Delco version of the FM MTF. Part number: 10-4014 88900399.
