Glass or Plastic Accord Ebay Fogs??

Just wanted to know of peoples experience. I want to do the Accord Fog mod again. The last set I had, the plastic lens melted (I used the supplied 35watt halogen bulbs). Yet, I've heard of some with the glass lens cracking. Which one is more durable? Does anyone have a seller name on ebay of a set that has lasted them with no problems. I will be putting HIDs in them this time.

Thats what I had done. Being that I had didn't use my stock fogs much, I spliced the connectors off, and extended the wires down to the h11 harness and plugged them into the accord fogs. This way I could use the OEM fog switch.

But this time, I want to run the fogs independently and have HIDs in them.

i have a set of the glass e-bay fogs. i picked them up for 48buks shipped, i havent installed them yet due to the cold but i did hook them up to an extra car battery for two hours to see if they would melt (using 6k HID's). The housing and lense got HOT but did not melt.. mind you this is sitting in my room and not on a car getting cold air rushed by it to cool it down. but just to be safe i would go with the glass b/c i have read storys of the plastic ones melting on people

I thought HIDs dont get as hot as halogen tho? Do you have a 35watt or 55watt HID kit?

I answered these questions in the pm you sent me but ill post my answers here again, maybe someone else can use this info.

I have no pics of my fogs but I went with the 6000k because i was trying to match my 6000k kaixen HID's which match my LED switchbacks.

This is a link to the fogs I bought from ebay. This seller has smoked and clear, GLASS lenses.

I got mine from Motor Works which were glass fogs. However both of my fogs cracked within a month. Your best bet is to buy the cheapest fogs and replace the lens with Lexan. Its stronger than glass and more durable than the plastic. This is what I ended up doing with my broken fogs. (If you do this run it with HIDs. Halogen bulbs run too hot and will turn the Lexan yellow and make it bubble, the only downfall)
