Thumbs up Giving credit where credit is due....

I know some people here feel I complain a lot, ok, yes I do, when my 34k ride is pissing me off I complain, but when the dealer steps up to the plate, I let people know.

I just got off the phone with Mike at Continental Acura who told me he has confirmation from Acura that Mid-March I'll be getting new tires. March 8th they are going over my TL with a fine tooth comb and he promised not to stick felt all over the car to give a short term fix to the rattles.

The rough start may be something I have to live with, at least he was honest about that and not trying to blame me or lie.

If they do as good a job as they did on my wifes car, all will be well.

Glad to hear it. Although I've read a few threads dissing them, I've always received excellent service from Continental, and any work they ever did for me was done right the first time. Good luck finally getting your TL issues straightened out. Still want to get together for a couple of cold ones?

When I'm not working 16 hour days I'll be happy to meet up for a few cold ones. Sorry didn't respond to PM, plum forgot, old age setting in you know.

I agree, Continental has been fantastic so far. I almost bought from Woodfield Acura, but their sales staff weren't very professional, I'm glad I didn't.

Norse...since I bought from Continental and have already had my car in for the tire/vibration issue, I'll be watching to see 1. How your experience turns out and 2. Do I get a call. I'll keep an eye out for you and UminChu. Good luck.

Zetroc,

Call them and ask for Mike Mcmahon, make sure to get your name in for the tires coming in this March.

Yep, my dealer told me I was first on the list for tires. So, I think you should call to get on said list.

dcarlinf1,

Did they mention what kind of tires were going to be used? My dealer has no idea.

my dealer said michelin pilot sports but others report new bridgestones. I paid for pilots and they gave me 400 on the old bridgestones.

Sorry to hear about all the problems you had to endure in your new ride. You missed out on the fun part of ownership - a hassle free new car break-in. I hope the dealer does you right and solves all your problems so you can begin to appreciate this car for what it is. Good luck to you.

casooner90,

Thanks, the one saving grace is the service, it has been excellent.
This morning I had a great drive to work, everything was pretty much behaving so I know what I can look forward to when they fix it.

Good dealer makes the difference...

I'm glad to hear things are moving forward towards getting your car running the way you want it, Norse. I have a new TL on order, and I'm watching how these problems get fixed with interest.

I've had a fantastic relationship so far with my Acura dealer here (Acura of Langley, about six blocks from where I live in Cloverdale, BC). Mind you, I've never really had any problems with either my wife's EL or my TSX, and its the problems that really test the mettle of a dealer-client relationship.

Keep us apprised of how things proceed!

I'll say this, the percentage of people with problems must be small given Acura's reputation for quality. People with issues will find a place to vent them, I think the majority have had few if any issues and most are probably due to first year out syndrome, I'm sure the production line is making adjustments as time goes by to make sure the excessive rattles I’ve been experiencing don’t happen to others, at least this is what I hope they’re doing.

They have told me they are going to replace the problem tires and fix everything properly, not with felt tape and other short term remedies but by removing panels and tightening loose screws and panels or what ever they find.

Part of the problem could be the tires vibrating enough to loosen things up, in any event the dealer has made good on promises so far, I’m sure he will this time as well.
