I have heard people mention moleskin and the doors scratching their tint...I am going to get my car done within the next 2 weeks. Is there anything I need to make the shop aware of?

I spoke with Llumar/Tint World folks and they say they don't know what I'm talking about re: mole skin. Here's the quote:

"I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A MOLE SKIN MYSELF. WE HAVE OVER 600 LLUMAR DEALERS IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, NO ONE TAKES DOOR PANELS OFF ANYMORE. MOST DEALERS SLIP THE FILM DOWN BEHIND THE WIPER, BUT DONT TUCK THEM. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS ON TINT WORLD, AND AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW, THEY HAVE 7 TINT LOCATIONS, AND ARE VERY SUCCESSFUL."

So now I'm confused. I was looking for a tinter that would take the panels off and install the mole skin because I keep my cars a long time.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

If your tinter is not going to do moleskin or does not know what it is move on, you are wasting your money. The TL (and Accord) needs Moleskin to cover the inner window wiper or it will scratch when dirt gets trapped in there. If you ask them and they can't explain it then you know you have the wrong tinter!
