Getting a Acura Tl This weekend or next. Advice?

so Ive been looking for a Acura Tl White exterior, black interior for many weeks now, and apparently they are pretty hard to find if you do not buy brand new.

Anyway, The Price quote for a 2008 Acura Pearl White TL with Nav is about 30,580.

How much less do you think I can haggle to make this cheaper, or do you guys think I should go for an 06 Acura tl w nav which is quoted at 24k?

Also, My goal for my car is to look similar like

Can the 08 use the ronjon body kit? What are your guys recommendations? Also would the wheels look just as good without the body kit?

Ive been looking at Acurazine for a while but I did not join as a member til now, as I did not feel worthy enough until i was sure I was going to get an Acura Tl.

I was debating between an Acura Tl, Bmw 330ci , or a Honda si. and as you know, I chose the best one.

Lastly, what tint do you guys reccomend? (keep in mind it has to be legal to the california tint law.)

first off all people are worth of membership here, don't ever feel like that. That is a good price on a TL, but if you want to spend about 3K more, you can get a Type-S for that price.

The bodykit will fit on all 2004-2008 TL's, but it is recommended you buy the kit unfinished (just polyurethane with extra on the edges for perfect fitment to your car, which will have to be done by a bodyshop)

As far as the rims, all of ron jon's rims will look great on the TL. If you get a white TL, I think the Ron Jon insypre Raven blacks will look very nice with some blacked out headlights.

Welcome to Acurazine, future fellow WDPer! The RJ Body Kit will look great on any 3G TL, but 07+ has fog lights in the lower grill, which will need to be custom mounted in the RJ grille (as far as I can remember).

Csmeance, what exactly do you mean by "extra on the edges"?

Personally, I'd say go for '06 WDP 6MT w/ navi and you could probably get the price down because it's an MT even if that's what you want.

Welcome to Acurazine. I have a base 2008 WDP with Ebony interior. I love it, just put on some A-Spec rims and tires. The only regret is that I did not get the Type-S. I have been a professional tinter for 15 years. Stay away from the "high performance, lifetime warranty" films. HP films have metal in them and tend to reduce your radio reception. Choose from a standard grade or the ever so popular cermanic films, these two films will serve it's purpose and allow you to have full range with your AM/FM stations. As far as brands, I prefer Llumar, Madico. Both these company have been in the industry for many, many, many years and are easy for the installer to provide you with a beautiful tint job. Also, it is very important to invest into some mole skin for your car. There are many threads pertaining to mole skin in Acurazine. Congratulations on your decision, the Acura TL is a wonderful car and will bring you years of enjoyment. Good luck with everything.

we're practically the same age, and thats how i got my TL. saved up for it since i was 14, for 5 years. it felt weird blowing all that hard earned cash and savings on a car, but it was worth it.

but if your keeping this car for a long time, then i would also recommend a type s.

i personally dont really like the type s that much...like the tl is sexy but the tl s looks/is more mean and aggresive? why do you recommend a type s though?

type S is ugly, imo interior red lights are meh... so good choice with blue interior base TL, If I were in your shoes, I would Just buy a 08 with what you want, right now because they will stop selling 08s soon, when 4g comes out. That RJ Picture of the TL is killer. But I declline on chrome wheels, something about them smells cheapy.

No the 08 does not get worse gas mileage auto for auto. They changed the way the epa rates the mpg's in 07 which are much more realistic.

As to your decision. You have gotta a pretty good price. I purchased a tl-s in may for 31,8xx with I think you might like more. AS for an 06 at 24k... You need to decide if you want a 6 speed or not. Start there. Good luck.

If I were in your shoes I find a 04 TL and save 1/2 that money that you've saved. There will be more things in life that you'll want shortly and having $15k still in the bank will at least give you options that many others do, or will not have at at your age.

Csmeance, what exactly do you mean by "extra on the edges"?
it means that the bodykit is slightly larger at the edges(around the wheel-wheels, fenders, etc) so when the bodyshop puts it on, it won't fit. This way the bodyshop can cut it to your car so it fits perfectly. If ronjon were to cut it, it might not have perfect body-gaps on your car.

save your money, there isn't a big difference between the 04- 06 and 08, save your money and enjoy the 04-06 if you can find it cheaper. Also a new car at 18 yrs old will be killer on your insurance, and a bad financial move, remember when you drive off the lot you will loose about 2K in value, then about 2-3K a year. Save your money! Spend it on something better like college!

luda21- welcome to the forums. You can post a "want to buy" (WTB) thread in the Black Market in the Off Topic section of the forum here: https://acurazine.com/forums/non-automotive-motorcycle-sales-9/

I luda, first off I would recommend no caps as some people here will get crazy over that. You can buy the kit from www.ronjonwheels.com. I would post a WTB add in the blackmarket section, you might be able to find someone who wants to sell their car and needs to sell the RJ kit. Honestly I doubt you will find a person who wants to get rid of theirs. My suggestion to you is if you can't afford it, buy it in pieces, front first, then sides, then rear. Also just on a side note, the rear bumper cannot fit the TL-S exhaust.

The Ron Jon kit is very durable, it can flex so it won't crack like fiberglass kits. I have seen a few in person and it gets a from me, and I need almost everything perfect.

The rims from Ron Jon are of great quality. He stands behind his products 100% and all are made to fit will almost no modification (new lug nuts may be required). Ron Jon has only had one issue, limited edition replacements. A few members bought some limited edition rim sets and they got damaged, so if you have 3 good rims and one bent/cracked/scratched one, its going to be very hard to find a replacement. I would buy a spare if it's a limited edition since the are produced in runs.

So are we gonna have to place the license plate on the dash board so we dont get pulled over? Lmao. It would be a shame to ruin the smooth look of the front bumper.

Do you want a manual or automatic? I found a 2007 WDP certified TL Type-S manual for $29k, that is what I wanted, but I wanted to keep the price down. I found a 2006 WDP TL Nav Manual certified almost mint with 28k miles. I paid $25k and got a decent trade on my 2007 NBP Civic Si sedan. The 2006 TL has IMO a much better looking A-Spec body kit available then the 07-08 TL Type-S which has a huge bulging A-Spec front lip, I know I had one and didn't like it. Plus the 07-08 base TL is softer then the 06 TL. I personally LOVE WDP. My favorite color by far. And a BREEZE to keep clean and wash IN THE SUN in the SUMMER.

I hear ya on this man. I am however 23, but when the 3G came out in 2004, I was a freshman in college and couldn't imagine owning one at that point, but I wanted this car more than anything, so I saved up $15K over 4 years and when I graduated and got a real job, I dropped those $15K on the down payment so I could afford the monthly payment! It's a weird feeling getting rid of all that money you saved for so long, but everyday when I look at my new TL...I get goosebumps...

The best feeling is that there was no help from my parents...well my dad came with me to the stealership, but I think it's just because he wanted to play with all the new cars there
