Gas question on the 08 TL

Hi noticed gas isn't really that well on my 08 tl. In the city I'm getting total of 280 miles per fillup. Just curious what everyone else here is getting. Other then that I love my tl =p

Welcome to the forums

- imho if your getting 280 miles on a full tank from pure city driving, that's not too shabby.

I never really worry about city mileage because there is no baseline to compare with (sit at a red light all day and you're getting 0mpg). I only take readings on the interstates (I get 32-33mpg with cruise set on 70). Otherwise drive gently in town and try to get in synch with the traffic lights. Also make sure you use premium gas - regular gas costs you mpg.

if ur car hasn't gotten through the break in period it will give pretty crappy mileage ... so wait til about 500 miles then you should slowly start to c some improvement ... it was like this in my tl-s, so im assuming its the same in the tl-p ...

I have 200 miles on mine to got about 20-21 MPG but I have been doing mostly city driving and not babying the engine. My understanding is that the mileage will improve once the engine is broken-in and after you do your first oil change ridding yourself of the factory 'break-in' oil.

If you look at your window sticker, city mileage: expected range for most drivers 14 to 22 MPG. Highway mileage: expected range for most drivers 21 to 31 MPG.

Time will tell
