Gas mileage for first tank????
Just picked up our new TL and noticed that after driving only 30 miles, we've already gone through a quarter tank of gas. The trip computer says we're getting 11 mpg....is this normal?
I know cars get pretty bad mileage when new, so I'm really hoping that this improves as the car gets driven more.

My first tank was all highway, I had gotten around 32mpg which I was pretty happy with.
After that, with a mix of 80% city, 20% highway, I was averaging 13 -15 mpg, this car does not like stop and go traffic for sure.

95% of my driving is suburbs with lights. Never really get above 50 mph.
The car is simply awesome on the highway though. No doubt I'd get more like 30 mpg.

If your car was started and stopped a few times at the dealer before you picked it up, and then you did the same, or drove in city traffic, this could be the reason for the 11mpg reading. It takes a while for the MID to accurately compute mpg.
You might try filling up the tank again and starting fresh. When the nozzle automatically shuts off, do not add additional fuel. Then, reset your MID and watch the mpg indicated. It will start out very low, maybe 6-10mpg, and then gradually rise to a more normal figure as you drive more miles.
