Gas filler flap
Can anyone tell me if there is suppose to be a round metal flap that covers the gas filler hole (the flap that gets pushed open by the gas pump nozzle)? I was filling up this morning and I did not see one but I'm not sure if the TL has one. I know my other cars have it.

Nope. It was eliminated a few years ago. Mrs. Bluenote's 2000 Integra does not have it but my 1997 Integra did. This was a holdover from when leaded gas was still available, and was installed to keep a leaded fuel nozzle from fitting into it.
Now all they have to do is figure out a way to keep all the Honda owners from putting kerosene & diesel fuel in their cars. I get one or two a week towed in because of this.

Someone at the gym filled his Alfa rental car with gasoline while in Milan recently. He and his colleague didn't even notice it was a diesel. His colleague was filling the car with fuel when he noticed the diesel symbol on the gas flap. The gas station put the Alfa on the lift and drained out the 15 gallons of diesel. 150 Euro's later (both fillups and labor to drain the tank) they were back on the road with diesel in the tank.
He said this Alfa diesel was amazing, extremely quiet, no typical diesel smoke or noise and was quite torquey. This guy also owned a Mercedes diesel 2 decades ago and said there was no comparison with this Alfa which operated like a gasoline engine to him.

Keep Right Except to Pass
The new Mercedes E320CDI diesel has gotten rave reviews from Car and Driver and Road & Track. Apparently it is faster than the equivalent gas car, too.
