Well it just goes to show you that even the best laid plans can be undermined...I am a big promoter of cutting the cord entirely to prevent them from letting it slap against the car. Last night had a lady in front of me filling up her SUTank and the guy opens the gas cap and gave it the tarzaan swing as it slapped and rocked back and forth on her rear Qtr panel. So I smirk and say to myself - "Ha! That no longer happens to me since I cut the cord - I am Wil E Coyote - Super Genious"

I pull up next and the Neanderthal opens my cap and I spy in the side mirror - but I do not see it dangling from its ball, yet I see the nozzle in the tank - AHHHHH!!! I jump out - and Mr. Loser had put the cap with the white (gas) side down on the middle of my trunk!!! What a dipsh*t. This kid/guy has probably gone as far in life as he is going to in life and I hope he is forever where he is at right now.
Not very Christams sounding I know, but I have done some real low, just God awful jobs in my life, but you know what - I did them the best they could be done and did them with a smile - I guess that is why I and anyone like me, quickly moved on to better things or got promoted to the Fryer pretty quick.

Anyway, when in doubt remove the cap yourself - since no one can be trusted other than us here on this forum!

Last week when the temps went below freezing, the strap would not spin freely making it very hard to get the cap off. It must have had water in it that froze solid. It's a real pain in the ass. I'm going to cut the strap off. Why they didn't put the little holder in the fuel door I'll never understand. It worked great on my Accord.

The gas cap holders were better on my Legend than my 03 CLS. It has popped out of the holder on the CLS a couple of times, not too secure in there. A holder in the door is still better IMO.

Maybe this new design avoids getting any dirt on the cap screw part, from a dirty holder? Maybe that is why they redesigned it for 04 TL. If they had made the knob edges rubber then it wouldn't matter as much if it hit against the car.

God this is silly. I feel like I'm back in third grade again. I told JWhite why I gave him the negative points was because his post came with negative points to me.
Check with the moderators and they'll tell you that I have only given negative points one other time and that was accidental and then I did everything needed to get them reversed as soon as I found out about it.
Grow up. When I got your negative points because my thread was a repost I didn't jump up and start crying to everyone else, I PM'd you and told you my comments privately. THAT'S how I play the game.
