My gas station is a Citgo, so I think it's Citgo BRAND gas, but I'm not completely positive. 93 Octane, it's the highest grade and only costs 10 cents more per gallon than 87.

I haven't had any problems with shell 93 octane. I have had MAJOR detonation issues with Mobil 93. I have no clue why, but could actually hear the detonation like it was a ford diesel truck !!!

Sunoco Ultra 94 no longer exists, at least in the NYC area.
It's now Ultra 93.

I used to fill up at EXXON gas station near my house because they have 0.06 off twice a week for Premium. But some time ago I noticed slight "ringing" under hard acceleration and thought it might be something with the engine (~68K). Then, I had to fill up while on the road - it was Mobil - and ringing gone! I know that EXXON and Mobil is the same company - but I use only Mobil now (it's a bit more expensive than EXXON - why is that?). I don't know whether that particular EXXON station was bad or there is some real difference between the two. Anybody knows?

Chevron has the highest and best detergent package. Shell needs to prove its claims.
