Is your car a 6speed or auto?when you had less mods , what you mean? Now you have intake and spacer and "some"exhaust. I say HR should take you from dig, as he's awd , but he might fall back a bit after 80 or higher

I still haven't gotten the pleasure to run a G or Z yet. DGSedan HMU!!!
Edit - As far as the runs with the G37 goes, I think it would be closer than you think from a roll on and if he wants the dig run that badly, he should give you a roll on. That's the way I see it, if someone only wants to run me off a dig, I tell them I gladly will as long as they give me my 40 punch as well.

Heres a vid of me doing a 1500k rpm launch with traction off. Its a problem as you can see. Traction on makes the car way slower off the line and maybe even slightly over the long haul.

With my Si, I ran 14.63 @ 97 bone stock. With my mods, I ran 13.79 @ 102 and she was still pulling hard as balls up top. That car was a beast, especially on the highway. I embarrassed so many tools with that thing...idiots thinking they had me when they'd pull a little bit in 2nd, then I would come around them hard in 3rd. I raced an Accord with your mods and the results were laughable. He had nothing for me...at any point.
You've got to get the idea out of your head that an I/H/E/T Si running 13's is the norm. There are tons of them that run anywhere in the 14's and there are a couple TL-S 5AT's on here that have run 14.2-14.3 stock, so Paperboy's comment about the two cars being a drivers race was not unrealistic.

I would love to run your TL-S! You're putting down pretty good numbers... I really need to go to the track.

I just got a letter in the mail saying my license is going to be revoked starting the beginning of next month. Ironically enough, speeding wasn't the main cause of this... Anyone have any advice as to how I can fight this or maybe do less time?

Don't know how much difference highway pulls is between G35 5AT and 6MT but with TL manual it makes a large difference due to big difference in gearing especially 4th and up.
What did ya do to get yur license revoked?

I have an 03 UA5 TL-S and raced a 03-04 G35 coupe for about 3 good miles on empty road. G35 had a passenger and I didn't. I threw mine into sport mode and VSA off and got him up to 85 mph and he got me after that. Only mod on G35 was CAI
#136
Is your G35 stick or auto? One of my good buddies actually has a modded 06 6 speed coupe with headers and an hks exaust, and we went from both a 1st gear roll (multiple times) and second and every single race ive put atleast a half car on him..both of us didnt have passangers either. If your lookin for speed bro upgrade to the 37, its about to be 2013 lol..interiors much more up to date as well on those as well

I've run my buddies G35 Coupe 6MT & we're near identical in mods; intake, downpipe, cat delete, exhaust. From a 40 roll, I can start a slow steady pull away from him every time he shifts all the way to 110.
If we do 70mph rolls where I'm stuck in 3rd gear, it stays pretty even due to his shifts. Once we're at 120-5, he'll easily reel me in & leave me. He runs with a passenger most of the time, but even when I've had one, the outcome's been the same.
Hell, I've run a 350Z Nismo from a 40 & a 50 roll and hung in there til' 100. At 60, he slaughtered me though.

base 6mt tl with a good driver can be even with a g35 6mt. Those cars only tested like 14.4-14.6 in the 1/4 mile.
6mt Tl type-s will certainly not spank the g35 but it will win assuming equal driving skill.
the cars are in the same class and are direct competitors - neither one will spank each other.
put in perspective, my type-s with -200 pounds, intake (useless), PCD, and j-pipe went up against a g37 from 20 to 100 and he had maybe 2 feet on me by the end of it, lol. That was before I had atlp v2 and 3.7 manifold/TB. Bad drivers play a large factor in this equation whenever a G is up against a TL 6mt.

Drifting
The driver of the G37,must have been a bad driver...Also the G35 6mt coupe puts down a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds..and the quarter in 14.0 seconds... G37 coupe 13.7 quarter mile The Sedan G is more of an equal with Type-S...
#142
It isn't. The G35 Sedan's aren't that quick compared to the Coupes, & the G37 Sedans are in a whole 'nother league now. G37S w/ 7AT is practically a sleeper.

G35 6mt couple in 2007 would put down a 14, not an older one though. If you're talking 03-05 there's no way. Regardless a 6mt type-s TL can put down 14 as well. Magazines had it rated at 14.1 and a 5.4-5.5 0-60 depending on who you talk to. Regardless it's so absurdly close to even the latest model G35 coupe 6mt that you may as well call it dead even, but that's about the only G35 that could beat a 6mt type-s. Driver's race, as I said.
yea g37's have really moved more in line with the 335i

A lot of mix ups going on over here. The 03-07 G coupe was basically the same appearance wise minus tweaks to the heads, tails and interior. However, the VQ35HR motor was never put into any G35 coupe; only the 07-08 Sedan. The only engine difference was in the 06-07 where they utilized the VQ35DE "Rev-Up" motor; which made more power but less torque than the regular DE.

^ Minimal difference. DE puts down slightly more torque while the revup slightly more HP. Complete drivers race.

that sounds about right. I seem to recall sedans getting a bump in HP which must have been due to the HR motor.
The g35 is a difficult car to research performance numbers for as several more well-reputed sources have differing numbers in terms of 0-60 and 1/4 performance, and also depending on the year. I've seen sources put the 03 at like 5.5 second 0-60 for the 6mt coupe.
What I can say is that they would walk my old '05 AT with ease, lol. I had a buddy run me once for fun to see how bad it would be. It was not pretty.
Since getting my type-s though, I've only gotten the chance to race a few G35's but none of them ever pulled on me. A g35 vs type-s 6mt is and always will be a driver's race stock to stock.
g37 just throws everything out the window. My car was able to keep up with that poorly-driven coupe, when I had light mods. At this point I've got way too much additional power and additional weight reduction for a stock g37 coupe to ever touch me, but those new sedans are pretty nuts.
I am not very far behind my buddy's e46 M3 6mt right now which spanks g37 sedans, lol. I'm much happier with a nice type-s that I paid 20k for, and sink 7 or 8k into performance mods + building the motor + Hondata, have something pretty unique as a result, and can keep up with those cars.
the troubles start to roll in when people start modding g37's, lol

I went to a drag strip not too long ago. Long story short, I got 2 runs in even though i had paid for 3; a 14.4x @ 101 and a 14.1 @ 97. Used DS on the first run and slipped through most of 1st gear; brake torqued too much. I left it in drive on the 2nd run and didn't spin although my trap went down. This was my first time at a drag strip. I'm positive that if I had went a 3rd time, Id have broken into the 13s.

Oh cool. That's where I used to run as well [although the numbers in my sig are from Atco in (-) DA]. Island shut down Apparently they violated EPA standards amongst other reasons. No more Island
