So I first want to say thanks to guitarplayer16 and all the others who have contributed to the thread. Following this DIY was the only way I would have been able to do this. I've been sitting on my fog kit for almost a year, but finally got the balls to try it. Turned out great. I have an HID kit I bought, but I've read you need a relay harness? Also, I couldn't find the DIY for that, so I opted to go with just the Accord fog kit. I'm not happy with the color, so I will eventually put the HID kit, 6000k.
One problem, I did the splice into the VSA switch and now the VSA doesn't light up. The fog switch lights up though. Anyone know what I may have done or could it just be burnt out? The button still works.
Here's some pics of what I've done. Excuse me for the dirty car.

Now that's a great install!
Very flush with the bumper and pointed inwards!
The colour is ugly, yes (I drove around with it for half a year) lol
As for your VSA illumination, it's just the bulb.
I'm not sure the splicing caused it, or if it was already burnt out.
I do know that all you have to do is buy the bulb, and replace it in the VSA button.
I had to buy a new bulb for my VSA switch too.
Quick and easy job, as you have tackled by far one of the hardest DIYs for the TL.

I had to replace mine too lol
Could be the splicing which caused it.
Maybe disconnecting the battery would have prevented it, I'm not sure.
rockstar143 had to replace his bulb too LOL
Excellent job once again.
How hard was it to follow?

So I got myself a relay harness for the HIDs. I was looking at it and questioned myself.
#1 is for ground
#2 is connected to where?
#3 is connect to car battery
#4 is for the HIDs
So if I am tapping into the windshield wiper for power by using the "add a fuse" method where would I connect #2 to? Thanks.

Number two would connect to any of the wires that you connect to your fog light bulbs. The plug 2 is used to turn on the hids through the relay harness. This is how your hids will k ow when to turn on.
Plug it into number 7 or 8 in post 326. Doesn't matter which one. You'll have one left over so just leave it hanging or hide it somewhere. You only need to plug it into one and the relay harness will draw power from the battery to switch on the hids. That plug acts merely as a switch.

That's what I thought but it didnt work. Maybe because I was just holding the ground and power on the battery terminals and not connecting them properly. I will try again later. Thanks
#331
Make sure all connections are pushed in all the way and the power and ground is properly connected. If all connections are fine and te relay harness is working then it shOuld fire up. you can always connect the hids without the relay harness to make sure it works correctly

I have these fogs. My ground (G20) is under the hood in front of the battery.
Sometimes they stop working all together. Last time The guy tightened the G20 and sprayed some sort of conductivity spray over it
Any one know what that spray is called?

Well it's a horrible pic, the light is all wrong, and the car is dirty...but I got these mounted this past weekend thanks largely in part because of this thread!
#335
Great write up and DIY guitarplayer, we thank your contribution!!
Do you know if the Type-S lower grill fit directly once the mounting holes are made bigger? Do they have a mount for the 07-08 fogs in the grill? I am thinking this maybe the easier option for a newb like me, although its more $$$$.

I had these accord fogs on my car with Type-S Grills, but changed them to Accord JDM fogs.

I just installed mine this past weekend and connected to the wiper motor and used the grounded red wire and connected the blue connector to the fuse box. Works great! Thanks for the right up! Now I have independent fogs and the indicator light is on when the fogs are on and the switch lights up as soon as the parking/headlights are turned on.

man im so confused right now.....im planning on doing this install in the next week or so, im not so great at figuring stuff out on my own, but i can follow instructions, now do i need the extra HID harness because i plan on installing HIDs but thats after i get all the wiring done because im already nervous as it is with the bulbs that come with the kid
its really not hard at all, you just have to go at it full force. what I did was install the accord kit with the regular bulbs then a day later installed the HID kit. Follow the instructions on pg 1 they are great instructions and you wont go wrong. if you want independent fogs, meaning they will be on when you want them to and not with the headlights or parking lights, its just a little different. Dont worry you got this!

If you're talking about the hid relay harness, it's not needed to work.
Now if you're talking about the hid harness, the hid kit should come with one.
If you're using HIDs, do what ak_06_TL did and wire the trigger wire (blue wire from switch harness) to the wiper motor wire.

Last step inside the car: Tapping into the parking lights.
See the solid blue wire on your switch harness?
Yeah, that wire taps into the parking light wire.
The parking light wire is the top left wire that is red and black.
I used splice connectors, so it was difficult.
All done inside the car!!!!
Now onto the engine bay.

oh and i the reason for the wiper wire splicing is because the wiper has constant power right? im starting to get a clear map on my head, now one more question, since im planning on doing the independent fog light and this at the same time, im i going to run into any electrical issues since im going to be double tapping to the wiper blade wire, and have you or do you know anyone who has done this kind of modification?

Think of it like this - yours wipers... you don't have to have your headlights on for them to work, right? You don't need to have air conditioning on for them to work right?
They're independant!
That's what will become of your fogs too - independant.
As soon as you start your car up and the fog switch is set to on, your fogs will turn on. If you set your fog switch off, they will turn on.
Will the fogs turn off if you shut off your car when the switch is set to on?
Yup. When you turn off your car, the wiper motor wire is dead.
That's why you can't use your wipers when your car is off, right?
You won't run into any electrical issues.
You're only tapping into it once with one wire, so I don't know where you read you have to double tap it lol
The guy above who posted used this method.
I also used this method with a guy who came to my house to get his fogs done.

Yeah, the wiper has constant power so that means your fogs will be totally independant.

You have a typical ebay set of fogs.
You can still wire them up, but the colours of the wires are different and the switch is obviously way different.

Just received my OEM fogs! Bought them for AckTl05 and he wired them up for me and all that good stuff, basically plug and play for me!
I just ordered my aspec kit so who knows when its coming but, I am so anxious to wire them up and put them on!! arg!!
Should I wire them with the base bumper without aspec or wait?
If I have to cut less then the aspec then it shouldn't be that big of a deal, then I can just cut accordingly for the aspec kit
