I think we should look at this from an actual technical perspective. I do not know who that person is on ebay selling that thing but all I know is that I sent him an email awhile asking about the product working on new cars that have several different systems that may actually override this so called chip, even though it is actually a resistor, and the guy never got back to me.

From what I know, the resistor may work on older cars that do not have sophisticated electronics. And even at that point, it detunes the car because the belief is that vehicle manufacturers have the car run richer then needs to be. Therefore saving some gas. But from this, it seems like it would detune the vehicle rather then increase hp.

Still, I have heard alot of people having problems with the check engine light coming on, or people losing power and even losing gas mileage.

I love mythbusters, was this actually done on mythbusters?

I'm about the most skeptical of all people, but I would really like to see someone who has had experience or someone who has the technical know how to chime in on this thread.

I wouldn't have a problem buying this product if it saved me 1 mpg on average and kept my hp the same. If indeed, acura has the TL running rich and using more gas and just having the cat burn it up, then it may be interesting.

Any experts who know what they are talking about pertaining to this product or the system that it effects have anything to say?

All the good feedback that guy prolly has gotten is due to people who buy the chip and used their butt-dyno to notice the improvements.

The EPA is required, by law, to evaluate and test all devices sold in the US that claim to increase gas mileage in a vehicle. And, surprise surprise, none of the thousands of devices and gadgets they've ever tested increased the gas mileage (and in many cases, the device actually made the mileage worse).
