This comes as no surprise to me. Best way to improve fuel economy with our TLs is to switch to full-synthetic oil and use gas-saving techniques when driving.
I have gotten 33.94 MPG (calculated, not via the MID of course) with my manual '04 TL in the summer on a trip, using the A/C the entire way, with two people and luggage on board. I did this last September when beginning my vacation. This is the best I've managed with my TL.
Products like the Turbonator amaze me in that people actually believe this nonsense and buy them. P.T. Barnum was right about the sucker being born every minute. If you are of a mind to purchase something like this, you deserve to be ripped off.
