Front Windshield Question
Hey all,
I've got a question for all of you with I-pass/EZ-pass transponders. Is it safe to mount the transponder on the front windshield next to the rear view mirror? This is ideally where I'd like to mount the I-pass unit to keep it out of sight as much as possible (using adhesive-backed velcro strips provided with the transponder), but I noticed this area has a strange texture. Anyone know if this area is being used for anything special by the TL? I'd hate to put an adhesive strip there and have to remove it in the future and found I damaged something....

That area is there to help shield the sunlight from coming through. It does not serve any other purpose, and looks like it is firmly attached, so you shouldn't have a problem mounting the e-z pass there.

I have mine mounted in that area and spray-painted black (to blend with the ebony interior). Both EZPass (East coast) and SmartTag (Virginia) have been working fine.
