I have a quick question (hopefully). I am picking up my new TL next Sat. and I don't believe I am going to have the front under body spoiler installed at the same dealership that I am buying the car from; They seem to be asking too much. The first thing I am doing when I pick up the car is heading to the clear bra shop and have one put on. I don't want to have the clear bra installed only to be ripped off when I get the UBS installed.

So my question is, when they install the front under body spoiler do they replace the entire front bumper or just add a piece to the existing assembly?

they add a piece to the front bumper so do not install the clear bra until the lip spoiler is on or you will have to redo the clear bra. dealers are always trying to rip people off for a simple install. you have to drill a few holes under the car and a couple of each side but its pretty simple. they give you templates to help align. either do it yourself if you feel comfortable or bring it somewhere else.

 

You know I am usually a DIY guy (I practically rebuilt my entire Camaro) but the TL is far from a projcet car. I would be extremly upset if I somehow ruined a brand new TL. I believe an acura dealership in San Diego said they would install all the underbody kits for around $250. I think I'm going to take that up.

 

250 is good price since its from a dealer and they will gaurantee the work they do. that's about the price i would pay for the whole kit installed.

I am getting a TL with a front spoiler installed by the dealership. I also wanted to purchase a Bra from Acura sometime in the future. When I search the Acura web site for accessories,

I notice that you can only select one of the two accessories (full bra or front spoiler), but not both.

Does anyone know if:

1) There is another company out there that makes a bra for a 2004 TL with a spoiler

or

2) If it is possible to fit the full bra over the front spoiler.

I am picking mine up on monday. the dealer has a guy who does the clear bra. I talked to the guy and the UBS is a problem because the clear bra is not cut to fit the Aspec. Our solution is for him to put the clear bra on the car without a lip spoiler, (stock or aspec), do the UBS seperately (since it will have to be custom done), then I'll take it back to the dealer and have the UBS put on. Hope this helps.

 

Aspector Gadget, Thats good to know. Maybe I will speak to the guy that is installing the clear bra and ask him how to do it.
