Plate protector and a few zip ties, and some duck tape on the back of the plate to protect my prestigious AM paint. I also selected the passenger side to not cover the intake area. Success.

Having the plate offset looks awful. If you are tired of getting front plate tickets put the damn plate on the car where it is supposed to go.

They gave me anchors to set in the holes but I decided to use my own stainless hardware and bolt the front of the assy. more securely. The back universal bracket I cut to size and bent at a 90. I tucked the bracket behind the lower rad plastic sheild and called it a day. If I can get a chance I will take a pic. The install looks extremely clean and is not going anywhere anytime soon. Wireing is also easy. Run wire, hide wire, red to pos., black to neg. done!
Pics please!!

Swift also makes a manual version that is only $60:

This looks like a good alternative if someone doesn't want to pay $150 for the motorized one.

So is member Dan1629 the only 3g TL with the motorized swift plate or what? You'd think more people would have this..

the front plate on the driver side has the POTENTIAL to disrupt air flow. but in order for that to happen you will need to do this:

the piece i cut directed the air straight up to work with the stock intake

its almost perfectly even with the filter. i tried to make it scoop up with the plastic i took off but it wasnt working so i removed all of it. thinking about making something to direct the air more

I think the rho plate is nasty.... seems so out of place.

Don't mean to be a dick, hope no one takes offense.

Rho-Plate

Here's my Rho-Plate set up on my Type-S... I'm happy with it because I don't have to drill anything and also not blocking any air intake pathways.. also been getting lots of compliments. ;D

This.

Offset plates don't look right on a TL bumper. Many other cars, sure. I've been getting no front plate tickets for a long time... none on the TL-S until I got a speeding ticket. As of several months ago I got tired of dealing with it and just put it where it's supposed to go.

You guys who are in Texas should keep an eye on this bill. If it passes, then no more front plate for us
