Front Grill Paint Question

I know I started this before about how would a WDP with the aero kit look if the grill were painted black, look. I think I`m going through with it, but trying to decide about the top strip thats attached to the hood. Should it be painted black, to give the painted grill a "completed" look. Or paint that strip the WDP color like the rest of the hood? I think I`ll use the same finish as the black slot intakes also. What do you guys think?

After looking at my own WDP, I'm thinking black. Even though that little piece is separate, when the hood is closed it all looks like one unit. Please advise on how you plan to proceed and I cannot wait to see pics if you go through with it.

I had mine painted black (I have the A-spec kit on my 04TL and my car is ebony).

Looks *MUCH* better and cooler :-)

It doesn't look very black in your gallery.
Perhaps you could update your pictures for us.

I think it looks more "sportier" in black. Since the trim is. Also with the aero kit i think. I`m also wondering trying to match the color might not be exact, knowing the way the pearl can be.

Good call on the matching issues...if the factory cannot get our bumpers to match the sheetmetal, then how could you trust an aftermarket shop?

They could match it easily. Todays paint/mixing precision is quite accurate to say the least. I am thinking body color for my WDP. I am anxious for pics of your TL's once finished though. Black is good.

If you want to see your body-colored grill, just go to Acura.com, select TL, then "Build & Price". The simulatory apparently has trouble keeping the silver grill, so it just substitutes your Exterior color choice for it. Voila! Now you can "photochop" you TL of choice while barely moving your mouse.

Danno,

Go to the acura.com web site and build a WDP car, funny, it shows the grill in white also (in the NBP, it is black, and the red, it is red, guess the web designer forgot to indicate the grill should remain constant vs changing colors!).

Thanks, I did not do anything though, other than link the photos from Acura.com, as they have the wrong grill colors when you build your own TL on thier site!

Way to go Acura!

EDIT - Sorry Legendguy, I did not see your post, I was going to do this last night but the site was down.

Those pics look great, thanks. But I still think a black grill on the WDP looks good too.
