Why do some TLs have the front calipers painted black with 'Acura' written on them, while others are just the plain old calipers? I was just on the dealer lot and saw some with the painted calipers and others without. All of them were the same price with the same options.

 

All the manual versions with 6spds have Brembo front brakes that are powder coated black and say ACURA on them.

 

There's a receent post mentioning the Brembos can be installed for 1200 doollars. http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93524 And it was not an option.

 

All 6MTs come with Brembo brakes. Those calippers are black with Acura written on them. When you compared the option on cars at the lot, you might have missed the transmission.
