Free Dealer Services

Did all of you get your first 2 scheduled maintenance services for free? I did not realize this as I found it in the Acura brochure. It is near the end under all the colour & trim page in "THE ACURA EXPERIENCE". My dealer never mentioned this and
I have a feeling that I would have been charged if I didn't mention this fact. The girl I talked to confirmed that they would be free.
Does anyone know what would included in the first 2 scheduled maintenances? Obviously an oil change but what else? I wonder if this is only for Canada.
Make sure you guys know this.

My dealer told me that oil changes were free for 100k miles, but I didn't see this in writing anywhere. But when I took it in for its first A1 service they didn't charge me for the oil change. I didn't have them rotate the tires (did it myself) and I don't know if they would have charged me to do it but I assume they would have since they said "free oil changes" and not "free service".

Really? There are so many people here who paid over $100 for B1 service.

Garuda, could you please let me know where you found the mention of free service. I've never seen it before and I know people are being charged for oil changes and some are getting them for free. If there is something in writing about free service, I'd sure like to know about it. Are you referring to the Acura Sales brochure. I don't have the brochure for the '05 TL, only the '04, and don't remember seeing anything about free maintenance in the '04 literature. thx.

Yes, please let us all know...I paid for my first oil service and then the second one was free cause I was having a LOT of problems....but if the acura brochure says it's free, then they really shouldn't be charging any $$$....i'll check my 04 brochure today and see what it says...thanks for pointing it out!!!

My guess is Garuda is Canadian, I don't think the US brochure has the same info. This same topic was brought up some time ago if I remember right.

My first oil change was free of charge. I went in last week and when the service was done the tech told me the oil change was free. I didn't even have to ask him about it.

I have a 24 page expensive looking 2004 Acura TL brochure that was given by the dealer. It is Canadian. It is on the 3rd last page with a header of "colour&trim" under "THE ACURA EXPERINCE". I'll quote word for word here.

At Acura, .... so every new Acura includes: a complimentary tank of gas at time of delivery. First two scheduled maintenance procedures. 24-hour Roadside Assistance for the first four years of ownership,...

Actually, the 2005 brochure that you can download states this also.
It is the last page.

I'm calling my dealer contact to ask right now, I am at 1600 miles and plan to change the oil at 2000.

How much are you paying for dealer oil changes?

The brochure is one that you get from the dealer if you look like a serious customer.
It is not the manual and is not included in the package/folder you get once you purchase the vehicle.
I can't get the US version so I don't know if it is offered in the US. If both US and Canadian brochures state this fact and you get charged for them, then your dealer is double dipping. Your dealer is then getting paid by both you and Acura. Nasty!!!

stocks2k was right, forget it, it's the Canadian Brochure he's talking about and it's on page 23 under the Acura Experience. here's an excerpt:
At Acura, our commitment to excellence goes well beyond engineering our vehicles. We’re entirely as committed to making your ownership experience a rewarding one. So every new Acura includes: a complimentary tank of gas at time of delivery• First two scheduled maintenance procedures • 24-hour Roadside Assistance forthe first four years of ownership, which includes our Dispatch Emergency RoadsideService, Emergency Lockout Service,Traffic Accident Services and more. See yourAcura Dealer for details.
You can download the Canadian TL Brochure.

I just checked my brochure for the '04 TL and there's nothing on page 23 referring to "The Acura Experience". I guess it's only in the Canadian version. Geeze..we're getting burned here in the good 'ol USA. Thanks for letting us know Acura doesn't appreciate American owners enough to give us a free oil change.

Jetlock, don't feel too bad. Canadian owners are not getting a few things that US owners have. I would rather have XM radio and foglights as they are not offered here in Canada. I was just excited to find that out yesterday as not even my salesman told me about it and it wasn't written anywhere else.

Is this the 8x11 landscape brochure? Some of the pages feel like rice paper? I got something like this when I put my deposit down and my dealer stapled his business card to the inside of the last page if I remember right. Now I'm going to have to go dig it up.

I get all my service through 22,500 for free. It's part of a service policy they can sell you. I had them include it for free as part of my negotiations over a year ago. So far, everthings been free. Bad part is that I am at 19,500 now and the car is asking for a A1 service visit soon...

Hey Gang,

I purchased a 05 TL in Jan. and I have 10 free oil changes til' 50,000 miles. It was a special they were offering. I would check with your dealership to see if they have anything like that.
