Flying out to pick up an '08 TL-S 6mt, some questions pls
#42
Glad to hear it went well. I've purchased 3 vehicles from afar (2 motorcycles and my TL-S) and have had 3 good experiences doing so...always reassuring to know there are still good people out there!

Looks great. I bought mine new and it now has 108,000. I like it enough that I always keep an eye out for a low mileage one like yours to replace it with when the time comes.
The Brembos do wear out pretty quick in most cases. I've seen a lot of posts on here of people barely getting 20,000 miles out of them and several on the other side of things but 30k is pretty normal. It's just the pads obviously, nothing an aftermarket pad can't cure. If you're wondering, Stoptech makes a great compound that resists fading, is quiet, low dust, and should outlast the factory pad (haven't gotten there with them yet).

I'm sure Acura OEM pads will last longer than the Brembo pads that come in the TL-S. It was probably cheaper for Acura to buy X amount of loaded calipers from Brembo than source or manufacture the pads separately.
I ordered some Hawk HPS replacements, I’ve had good luck with them on my last three cars. And amazingly amazon had them so I’ll get them Thursday, swap them Friday and get my inspection paperwork Saturday. I only have so many days until my transport tags expire.

You should take it to a shop to look at it. I just bought an 08 TL- S and I didn't take it to the shop to look it over and I had to take it to the shop the first week I bought it. I had a valve problem, but I didn't know since I couldn't hear the valve knocking. It was caused of a rev-hard situation.

I think he's saying the previous owner over-revved it and bent the valves. Probably nothing to worry about in your case.

You should clean and condition those seats. Gonna say you bought it from a bigger couple and they always rode together. Pass seat showing it as well.
Otherwise that is a fine looking car. WDP looks good, that was my 1st choice but settled for CBP.
I also flew about 2000 miles to pick up my car. Good luck and enjoy it. I just now started putting miles on my car.

Congrats, Psybin! If you want, you can use some Anthricite touch-up paint on the wheel. The color match is almost perfect.
