First Oil Change Experience

Nothing too exciting about this thread. Just figure I let people know who lives in Minnesota.

Scheduled an appointment to have the oil change last week at Bloomington Acura.
When I pulled in, I was like the last car in. Now I am like, Great its going to take awhile for them to get to my car. Sure enough the service advisor asked if I was going to be waiting, and I said Yes.

A service Tech came to pull the other cars aside and pulled mine right in, S.A. said it would take an hour. They were done with it in 35mins. Car was Washed and Vacuum with No Oil Spills like I had from Bloomington Honda with my old Prelude.

Recieved Great Customer and Prompt Service.

Yeah, when I go there they treat me like a king.

And frankly, it's a little embarrasing since I am only a prince.

I wouldn't be in such a hurry when I have my car's oil change done, personally I let mine sit for over an hour to let most of the dirty oil drain out, maybe Michael our oil expert has some words of advise in like for instance how much dirty oil is left inside the engine if and when we do our "EXPRESS" oil changes in record time, how much does this dirty oil pollute the clean oil put in..?, does it shorten the life of the new oil?..and if we switch to synthetic at this time what does the mixture do ?
Michael, you have the floor..thanks
(BTW is nice to be treated nice at delaerships, Schaller Acura does everything including letting you watch them work on your car...)

That's nothing special if you do not know what the other cars were there for and if they were being dropped off for the day. They always do that....

And I agree that the record time oil changes are not what they are crack up to be. I prefer they take the time to make sure they are doing it right....

My first oil change experience was perfect. Done quickly and done right.

Of course, I did it myself!

I'll probably continue to do my own oil changes for the forseeable future. I buy my filters from Acura, and I'm now using Mobil One 5W30.

Regards,
