Finally, we have TL
Well, we picked up our SSM/Ebony/5AT/Navi last week, and we already have over 1100 miles! Day one involved a 6 hour 400+ mile trip, what a terrific way to get to know the TL. I was expecting greatness, but honestly the car has exceeded my lofty hopes.
The engine: best part of the car, smooth as silk, power always available. And, averaged 29 mpg @ 80 with the AC on. I spent the first 800 miles varying engine speed, and I am still impressed with the mileage. Ah, I ran to redline after 1000 miles, what a rush.
Tranny: I wish the car would let me perform the 1-2 shift, but I suppose for reliability Acura feels they can't trust us...probably right. I grew up with manuals, and this sport shift is a nice compromise (I really don't like "finger shifting" other cars such as the GS300).
Brakes: I wish the auto came with the Brembo calipers (and LSD for that matter), but the standard ones are easy to modulate and have a great bite.
Interior: the leather is fantastic, and the seats are comfortable for long hauls. Our baby seat fits with plenty of room on the sides. Trunk is a little small, but manageable. The electronics are fantastic, the Nav is the easiest I have used.
I have noticed what sounds like a faulty air seal around the passenger window--louder at speed, and the window "rattles" slightly when raised. Has anyone else noticed this problem? My dealer will be taking a look in the next couple of days, and I would love to have some other owners' input if this has happened to you.
Thanks for listening to my rant, it is great to finally own my TL!

Glad to know you enjoy it.
Although 1-2 shifting is impossible, how's about trying "L" mode?
About the wind noise, mine is on the driver side door seal or column. No solutions yet.

I don't get any wind noise until approx 80mph, so it must be an isolated issue. From what I can see, Acura did a tremendous job with the seals....they have several, and are designed to make the car as quiet as possible. This is one really quiet car.
