Well my 05 WDP Quartz w/Navi is in and I'm picking it up Sat. I got $2000 off sticker. On top of that I had 3 lease payments left on my 03. He gave me $700 towards the remainin payments. I'm very satisfied with the deal. I'll have to get rid of all the stuff for the 03. I'll post in for sale forum. I can't wait to play with the Navi. I allready picked up a bluetooth phone so I 'm ready to go!

Congrats on the new car. Did you lease again? Sofar the best deal on a 05 AT Navi I've seen (without haggling yet as am not 100 pct ready to negotiate pending getting rid of my current car) is $480 (incldg tax) for 42 mos with about $1500 total out of pocket. If you leased appreciate if you could advise your deal so I can compare.
Unfortunately Acura's money factor is a pretty lame equivalent to 5.8 pct on leases in January (and I understand it doesn't matter if you have a great credit score) probably because they are selling so well.

Everybody is talking leasing vs. puchasing. Back in the day, there were some good lease deals. But automakers and their financial arms were taking hits on the resale when cars were coming back in off of a lease, so they are not subsidized nearly as much as they used to be. For business write-off purposes, a lease can be attractive. But otherwise, with low interest rates these days, it's not nearly as attractive as it used to be. Plus, with a purchase, usually you have some equity start to build after year 3... It just depends on the individual's circumstances. But usually, if you can't write off the lease as a business expense, it's not worth it. Unless you are just absolutely stretching your budget, and HAVE to have the most car for the monthly payment.
For instance, I leased a loaded up 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 3 years, and the residual on it was 67%. For a Grand Cherokee ?!?!? Yep, you can bet they took a hit trying to sell a 3 year old GC for 67% of it's original price. For the 3 year lease with 15K miles and nothing down, the monthly with taxes and everything was around $400. Keep in mind, the interest rates were higher back then and the sticker on it was $37K.
Anyway, point is that for most people, unless they can write it off or the lease is artificially subsidized by the manufacturer, most consumers will not come out ahead, and indeed, the lease is another opportunity for profit for manufacturers and dealers.

I agree. I do however write most of this payment off under my business. I also would never want a perticular car for more than a 2-3 years. This is allready my 7th acura in 7 years. I got some issues, I know.....
