finally.... I have the TL - thanks!

Hello Everyone! I am a LONG time lurker of this forum, and I have had my eye on the 04 TL since they came out! Well, this past Friday, I got my new baby '04 TL non-navi, satin silver, w/ ebony... I LOVE this car!! The look, drive, and tech options are amazing!

I just wanted to say thanks to all the members and moderators here for the great information! I researched extensively on this site before closing my deal, and the info from here greatly helped at the bargaining table!

I'm in Dallas, TX, let me know of anymore TL'rs in the area!

Hey Clint. Welcome to the board! I think I'm the only DFW TL board member without a TL although its on top of my list for my next car which should be very soon. If you have any questions about mobile phones and technology, I'm your man.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the warm welcome! I am very excited about my TL!!

mobilezen - I'm a bit of a phone/tech geek myself! I consider it my hobby actually!! I currently have the Samsung I500 (pdaphone)... but, it has no bluetooth! and I haven't been able to find an add on adapter! So, needless to say, I will be making a phone switch pretty soon, to one with bluetooth for my TL...

on a side note, if your interested in pdaphones, check out www.pdaphonehome.com .. I'm a moderator over there, and there are alot of cool people and great info!

It is going to be awhile until they get the headset profile to work right with the handsfree link in the TL for PDA/Phones unfortunately. There will be the day.

one quick word of advice to keep your TL in top shape..watch the seatbelts when u go to plug them in, if u hit that silver trimming it will dent real easliy and def be careful of curbs..those dumb tires dont come out past the rim so u are sure so scratch the rim

Welcome to the family

Welcome to the Acura family, TL branch.

You will continue to find lots of kindred spirts, advice, commiseration, and a dash of B.S. It's up to you to sort it all out.

Can you be more specific on which threads helped you with your negotiations?

tonyg - thanks for the advice on the seat belts, i'll be real cautious on that! unfortunetly, I think I read your rim advice one drive too late I have a small scratch on my right rear already!!! the parking garage out our office is a nightmare!! can this be repaired?

xpditor - thanks for the welcome! the thread that helped me the most were the ones were folks listed out their lease deals from all over the country... I was able to compare price/payments/residuals that people were getting, so I had a baseline to compare to when closing my deal... that way I knew I wasn't getting taken on rediculous numbers!

Welcome clintrob. I'm in Plano and took delivery late August. What dealer did you take delivery from? Glad to see another DFW TL on board.

I have a Samsung i700 PDA phone from Verizon. Though there's a Bluetooth SD card, there's no software driver to provide the Handsfree profile. The maker of the card feels like there's not enough demand yet despite my insistance to the contrary when I spoke with them. They did say check back in a few months however.

Bluetooth SD card will probably take care of data transfers and such from the computer to the phone itself but that won't handle HFL. When they say check back in a couple months, that's like saying "fat chance man, we're not going to make it and hopefully you'll forget it by then." I have heard that line from body kit manufacturers, computer companies, phone manufacturers, retails stores, corporate entitties, etc etc.
