Finally got my 2005 NBP TL. Happy to be part of the club!
I finally got my 2005 TL Auto with NAVI. I had been lurking around these forums for a few months and it has really helped me get a great deal, and I think, choose the right car. I got the NBP with ebony leather, and being an techno geek, I am loving every inch of the car.
I am very picky and tend to focus a lot of attention to the smallest of items - my wife considers it anal.
I must admit that the TL is very well constructed and assembled. From the proven VTEC, to the usability of all the telematics. There definitely was a lot of thought put into the design of all the functions of the car.
I have been a BMW fan for a while, and I just sold my 1998 BMW 528. I had been researching a new car for a while and I looked at the Lexus GS300, Infiniti G35, and the BMW 3 series. None of them had the complete package of performance, engineering, standard options, and technology (for the price) like the TL does.
The German cars handle very well and are excellent engineered cars, but they have a lot to learn about marrying the engineering with the technology (my 5 series had many electrical gremlins (many of the bimmers seem to have them - heck, just do a search on bimmer.org - I lived on that forum) And their usability designs still need major improvements. I believe they are the result of their own "over analysis" on various functions in their cars.
Anywho...
I am really happy I went with the TL, plus I like the fact that the TL is quite rare around the Motor City.
Pics to come soon...weather has been raining and crappy.
