Finally finished headlights and foglight install

I just wanted to show my variation of my cleared headlights. It's a matter of preference, but I left a piece of amber in after reading the post that explained reflector to be mandatory by law. Waiting for silverstar signal bulbs and aspec body kit which should be here any day now.

[IMG][/IMG] by the way, that not a scratch on the hood, it's the clear bra. I know, the car is dirty [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Do you see the foglight behind the grill?

Hope you guys like what you see

Here are his links (it was a formatting issue.. these should work):

1) http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/9614/grill0217av.jpg
2) http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/6271/grill0185cu.jpg
3) http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/989/grill0177aq.jpg

6) http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/1121/grill0202ll.jpg

All in all, I applaud you for the work (love the main and lower grills), but I'm not feeling the fogs or the placement. At least they're stealth when off.

i think it might look better if the fogs where on the other far side.. but nonetheless, something different that looks good.

because they are behind the grill...don'st that render fogs useless? and we already have fogs...why do people want other ones?

It's a matter of preference. I was told that the closer the fog lights are to the road the better the visibility. Besides, I think our factory fogs are just the company's poor excuse to convert the daytime runnings that they made for Canada to "foglights" for the US market.

Does not look bad at all. However, having mesh on the front is too much work when it comes to cleaning up all the bug parts in between the grids.

I love the work you have done with the mesh for the front and bumper grilles. Was it a DIY ? can you post the details.

I have seen the DIY for the removal of the amber area .. is this step reversable? In other words if for legal reasons you had to have it could you reinstall it?

Tony,
I'm almost done clearing up my headlights. I just need to install my bumper. Anyhow, I have the same foglights as yours. The only difference is I have a dual fogs, blue and yellow. I'll take some picture after I get everything back in place.

Hey Tony,

Question for you... the Silverstar turn signal bulbs... do they look silver and then turn orange when powered? I'm clearning my headlights this weekend, but need to find some orange bulbs to replace the turn signal bulbs. Someone told me that there are silver bulbs that turn orange when powered...

silverstar bulbs burn amber, but off they are like transluscent amber/blue/silver combo.

Wow, that's PERFECT! Would anyone know the part numbers to order to replace the 3rd Gen TL turn signals? And from where?

Zax,
I'm ordering mine from a specialty auto store. I tried to look for at every auto parts store as well as walmart and had no luck. My bulbs should be in on Wed. I think PIAA makes a similar bulb as well. The bulb is 7443 but I think you can also use 7440 as well.

Just so you know...
if you ever decide to put a Cold Air Intake... the fog lights will keep the CAI warmer... not a good idea

I have a cold air intake and the foglights are not blocking the intake opening to the intake. The fogs I have are very slim and do not block much of anything.
