Farewell, my sweet TL
I have finally sold my 8 year old TL. Drove it off the lot in 2004, she had 25 miles on it. Anthracite metallic, 5AT with navigation. Over the years shes had 4 different sets of rims, two different suspension setups, two sound system makeovers, more tint tickets than I can count. I've driven her 96,000 miles to date all around california, nevada, arizona. She has not broken down on me once...
And now she will be driven away by her new owner on Saturday morning....
I CANT DESCRIBE THIS FEELING!!

Well it sounds like the TL was a dream car! I hope your able to replace it with something equally successful. Count yourself as lucky that you were able to escape without any transmission issues.

I sold off my first car, had it for neigh 17yrs. It's been all over the US and to Canada a few times.
Lots of memories.
Sad part is, I sold it to some guy who I don't think deserved it.
a 20yr old honda however ain't worth a grip, but man I feel bad.
I feel ya man.

^ I'm in the same boat. I've always had my next car in mind. However, I'm at a loss at this point. Can't think of anything short of a 2007 or 2008 type-S. I'd be all over the 2nd gen TSX if the V6 came with a manual. And I might be able to bear the 4th gen TL if it weren't for that beak. The irx looks promising but I really don't want to go back to a 4-banger. Audi and BMW aren't reliable enough, Lexus is overpriced and cliche IMO, I don't have enough confidence in domestics yet (maybe in another 5 years), and I'm just not feeling it with Korean cars yet. So I'm stuck with Honda.
But back to the point. I know how it feels to part with your car. It's almost at if it develops its own personality and becomes part of the family. But sometimes it's good to put em out to pasture

^ I have checked out the newer Infiniti's. The older models were the only ones in my price range at the time (2003-2006) and I wasn't impressed by the interior or feel of the manual transmission compared to the TL. I haven't checked out the newer models but I'll have to look into them when I upgrade

I have another 4 door sedan, a 2011 E90 M3. I'm replacing my TL with a smaller SUV, trying to get into a 2012 RDX because honestly the 2013 looks like a CRV to me.
It just wasn't compatible anymore with me, having two sedans. Plus, i was slammed over 3 inches on my TL and sm/west la roads were chattering my teeth everyday commuting.
I just hope this next owner will appreciate it...

Nav and Infiniti/Bose Studio On Wheels is also better than the TL. Nav's graphic on the 2nd, 3rd gen TL looks like it was designed by a 3 years old.
