I've got the front. Looks good.

They are not thin stickers like I thought they'd be. They are thick peices and come with pre-attached 2-sided tape. Just clean the area with alcohol and make sure the temp is fairly warm when you put them on.

Car is a little dirty - can't help it.

Does the front trim kit include the two compartment doors before the shifter?

And you said that they are pieces that are stickered on? Over the existing black trim?

I would like the areas around the center console/seat-heater/shifter to be carbon-fiber but I have the dark wood-grain trim for those compartment doors and both would look weird together? ?

I have CF steering wheel, Center console and rear A/C. I also have custom CF trim pieces on my window swtiches, around the VSA part of the lower dash panel and a smaller one in the center of the Open/Close rear A/C vents. Def a nice touch. Just do a search on threads I made you can see the pictures.

Guru...they probably would look weird, but here is my Carbon Fiber interior kit-as per your request.

Front door/compartments came as CF. The Front kit goes around the seat heater buttons and around the cup holders.

They are stickered on, but I thought they'd be like thin decals or vinyl. Instead they are thick peices - think high quality laminate/veneer.

They go over the existing flat black trim - you peel off the 2-sided tape and press 'em down. They seem very durable so far.

Edit - just to clarify, Steven Bell's kit is an after market trim kit, not the OE trim kit. It has many more peices than the OE kit.

I'm guessing that's not OEM ^.

I don't think the OEM one includes the area around the shifter, which is what I'm really interested in. And yea, it would look weird unless I carbon-fiber everything like you did. O well...

I like the OEM carbon fiber kit. Get it, it should have come on the car to begin with.

I think it should come with the car too. But I have too much wood grain and I don't want to stick on carbon-fiber over top. If only there were actual replacement parts in CF.

modern carbon. It will still be off a bit but it's the closest thing they got.

Guys, to be honest with you, I like the aftermarket kit MUCH better than the OEM. If you look closely at the pictures posted in this thread, you'll notice that the OEM Carbon Fiber is very dark. But the aftermarket kit gives you a definite variation of the threads in the carbon fiber. To me, it looks much better because you can actually see the difference in the threads. With the OEM pieces, you can see the difference in the thread when they are in direct sunlight, but how often does that happen?

i dont know if i am feeling the carbon fibre windscreen on a sportbike, i always use dark smoke for my windscreens....

as for looking cheap, i looks no more cheaper then the faux wood they use for the other tl interiors....

but everyone has their own tastes, thats what makes it all good...

Vinnie, it's not bad at all. I had originally purchased the OEM Carbon Fiber pieces, but didn't like them. But I couldn't get the off....!! So the center console actually has 2 layers, but don't tell anyone!

Instead of the carbon fiber I should just get some matching dark wood grain for the center console/shifter area... It would go much better together.

The naked plain looking black plastic just bothers me everytime I look at that area...

the windscreen looks good, trust me...if I can find some pics later I'll put one up so you can see it. I agree about the fake wood interior tho, I don't like that either
I'm not tryin to hate on the carbon fiber trim pieces tho, I agree everyone has their own tastes and styles. That is part of what makes this such a great forum, so many different ideas here!

Everybody, the carbon fiber pieces from the kit look excellent. I was concerned that the car would look cheaper with them in it. But I originally placed a few pieces down without adhering them to the car-just to see how they look first. I eventually permenantly used all the pieces in the kit. Hey, in my opinion, I think they make the car look classier. But CarrieLynn is right-these things are a matter of taste and style. They aren't for everyone. But with a Silver Type S, I felt like it added to the look....the colors coordinate will with the car's body color.

I never noticed it until my friend pointed it out to me. It blends in well with the interior haha. I kinda like it its not disturbing as long as its not peeling off the dash like the cheap kits then I am good with it.

I just bought an 06 with the factory carbon fiber trim. Is it really carbon fiber, or just plastic made to look like carbon fiber? I guess it doesn't matter, I like it anyway.

Guys, the majority of these carbon fiber pieces are for places that already have carbon fiber in the car. So it really enhances the dark carbon fiber that is already there.

There are other pieces that go on areas of the car, but to me, it doesn't look cheap. It actually enhances the look of the car and the carbon fiber. The OEM stuff in the car is so dark that you can't tell the difference in the fiber pattern unless you're in direct sunlight.
