Experience with Davis Acura

I Bought a 06 Acura Tl from davis acura In Langhorn PA. The car has 30,000 on

it and is a acura

certified car. On the way home from buying the car, I felt the car Vibrate Alot

around the 55 mph. range. The following day I called in and they said they would

fix it for me. Well I thought I could take the car when ever i want so i took it 3

months later. Being that the acura dealer is around 1.5 hrs. away. I go to take

the car in and they slapped me with a $500 bill for a new rim. I called my sales

person and he said he could do nothing due to the time period i took my car in. I

told him that i called him and told him the conditions in which the car was when i

bought it. They refused to to fix my problem even though he admitted recieving

my call the second day of the sale. Any advise on how to go about this?

If not Just take this as a rant and be careful with the dealerships, put everything

in writing.

Sorry to hear about that. Especially since it was a bent rim, you would likely have had better luck getting back there ASAP to have it checked and replaced. It's a normal wear and tear type thing.

Showing it immediately to them would rule out that you damaged the rim during your significant use of the car.

I got my wifes '04 MDX from Davis (5 minutes from my house), then made the mistake of getting my '05 TL from Open Road Acura in NJ.

I've found Davis to be far better than Open Road with regards to sales and service, and promises made vs. promises kept.

And eventhough I didn't get my TL at Davis, they treat me just as well as they do with the MDX when it comes to service. One time an oil change took WAY too long, so they rotated the tires and did the oil for free. Too bad service wasn't quicker, and it is often a lLONG wait, but I thought this was a classy gesture.

IMO, I'll take a Lexus or BMW service department anyday over Acura!!!

I'd have taken it right back. I don't understand why you drove around for three months with that vibration. That bad wheel vibration could have caused wear to your suspension components. I understand their side on the issue, you could have bent that rim anytime during the three months. The original problem might only have only been a wheel balance. You'll never know now.

I do understand that i should have taken it back as soon as possible. But i was hard being that it was a new car to me and all i wanted to do is drive it. That was a mistake in my part. But i believe they should fix the problem that i brought to there attention the next day. It also seems as if they dont want to fix there warranty work. I noted that i wanted the front suspension checked due to a knocking sound when braking. they said that i never noted that and they would only do my oil change and inspection(not warranty work).

Timing is important for getting things done, so is having it in writing. Let it be a lesson. Hope things work out.

Bring your car to Elite Acura-formerly Marty Sussman Acura in Maple Shade NJ and Speak to Rich Ritter- Service Manager, also Deanna Clancy- Service Advisor. Tell them Dave Whittingham - I sent you. Let them know the conditions of your car and see if they can help you out. Rich Ritter 856-722-9600 ext. 1525
Deanna 856-722-9600 ext.1524
Good luck to you, and stay away from Davis.
