Exhaust Tip Idea... Can it be done??

Sup fellas,

This is for you fabricators/vendors on this form... Is there any way that you can design some exhaust tips that looks like the one found on the MERC CL or S-Class below to fit a 3G TL:

CL:
http://www.auto-couture.com/mercedes/w216/index.html

S-Class:
http://www.auto-couture.com/mercedes/w221_pg/index.html

I think those tips would look RIDICULOUS on a 3G TL!!!

lol, I can't tell you how much time I've spent/wasted on auto-couture's site today...

I think this would be very welcomed by those who have the base TL's, like myself, that dont have the big enough width to sport the quad tips. I like it a lot.

That might still look too wide to get to fit on the stock bumber of our TL. I believe there is a guy that did quad tips on his 04.

I totally agree! Quads are so common these days. I think this definitely a unique look and something that would compliment the 3G so well.

I can't imagine it would be too diffucult to design, especially given the 3G's Squareish exhaust cut-out, but what do i know.. I'll leave that one to the experts...

if you make it, we will come!!!

I would advise against it. Doesn't flow with our body lines.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLLLL NOOOOO that does not look right at all. I know we like to try to go for different looks and stuff for our TL but that is not a good look.

I'd go for a better chrome finish on the square, stock tips. If there was an easy way to swap out the pieces, without a ton of exh system dismantling. I've tried polishing with superfine steel wool- always worked on my other two cars. The TL just doesn't take a shine.

I don't necessarily agree.. What you got there is a jacked up photoshop job. Size is really screwed up. Its like photoshoping size 22 shaq shoes on an avg size man, of course its not gonna look right!

BUT, if someone were to make it form fitting to match that exhaust cutout that the TL has, then I think it would be a hit! Anyways, no sense in beating a dead horse. This was just an idea, and hopefully one of you fabricators/vendors will pick up on it.

the tips are pretty wide, nearly 3/4 the size of the license plate to fit that you would need smaller tips and the TL-S aspec kit. If you were to get tips like those, it would have to mimic the ones on the new 4G TL

They might look good if they were angled to go with the curvature of the bumper.

The object was to make it look as bad as possible so no one would try it. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
