Exhaust smoke only on one side normal on cold start up?

Hey all, so I just noticed that when I started my TL this morning, the smoke only came out the driver side muffler then like 10 seconds later, the smoke started coming out the other side, is that normal or is there something going on there?. I started my girls TL and both mufflers got smoke coming out at the same time. I do have pcd's , v3 jpipe and a comptech cat back exhaust. Anyone had this happen or any info on this?

You think it's normal?

Mine also does it. When it warms up it comes out of the other side also.

Idk if it's normal but I know for 100% there's no leak because I recently put my 08 type s on a Jack switched out a exhaust gasket and checked all the connecting pipes

And it makes no sense because isn't the piping to the exit on the drivers side longer? I'd think the smoke would look for the quickest escape route

Certainly nothing to be worried about. Same mixture coming through the single pipe before the split, it's just one side sees more than the other.
Put your hand over the tailpipe exhaust at idle and see if you can feel the pressure difference between each side. Just don't burn your hand.

Simply water vapor, most all cars do this on cold starts on cold days

Some turbocharged BMW's are so bad that at idle very little exhaust can be seen/felt out of one side, but under heavy acceleration it will even itself out.

But like I said isn't the piping going to the left of the car(the drivers side) longer? Therefore the smoke should come out the right(passengers side)?

physically speaking, piping length isnt the concern, its the pressure. its similar to the concept of current in electrical systems. it'll always take the path of least resistance, not the path of least distance

True but that's because there's a valve that cuts flow to one side in easy driving for noise control that opens up when you get on the throttle for max power.
