Entended warranty question

OK, I just realized that I got ripped off on my entended warranty, and of course it's after 51k miles on my car.

I have a 2007 TL-S, and I purchased the 7year/100k warranty when i bought the car for $1700 (rip off #1). I guess a comparable Acuracare warranty is about $1000? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also noticed that it's offered by Fidelity, and it's not Acuracare (rip off #2). I didn't even know there were different extended warranty offered. I thought they were all the same, which was stupid.

The question is, since the entended warranty doesn't "kick in" until the original warranty expires, can i still get a decent refund? I know that i'm out of original factory warranty by 1k miles, but can I complain at the dealership and get them to at least change it to the Acuracare warranty?

I should have looked into this sooner, but i'm concerned because of the dreaded pinging issue that this car has, and i don't want to get ripped off again by the dealership/service department for any repairs that I may need down the road...

if you have a problem and insurance coverage/extended warranty- why would you consider dropping the coverage?
If the dealer accepts that policy without you paying out and waiting for a check- and it was a fairly normal price that you paid--whats the problem?

Its too late to be switching policies now- keep what you have and take advantage of it- something is wrong- the dealer will find it and fix it
Be it transmission or some ABS problem- your warranty is there for you

people who buy used acuras and try to get extended coverage are paying anywhere from 1500-2500- the more miles on the car the higher the premium

You hear about a 1000 deal but it turns out the guy worked at the insurance company and got insider rate

Is it possible the dealer sold you the fidelity policy because it was better coverage than acura?

Thanks for your reply. I was just worried because I was reading here that Acuracare is the best extended warranty service you can get for an Acura because it covers almost everything with no deductable. I have a deductable on my coverage, and I wish I knew about Acuracare when I purchased the car.

I think the dealer is selling third party extended warranty because it's probably more money in their pocket.

Sometimes I read here, and maybe get too paranoid? I just home this trip to the dealer works out ok.
