might help if you gave us the code it threw at you.

GeeCastle 01-16-2013 08:31 AM

Darn let me check

SharksBreath 01-16-2013 08:37 AM

btw, to clear the codes. here is what you do.

you'll need to evoke the diagnostic screen first, get in your car, turn the nav on, and hold down the "GUIDE", "MENU", and "CANCEL" buttons for about 5 seconds. The factory calibration screen will come up.

then click on XM module, and you'll see the option to erase those messages.

The code is p1078

SharksBreath 01-16-2013 09:03 AM

P1078 Intake Mainfold Runner Control (IMRC) System Malfunction (High rpm)...this code make reference to low idle engine, maybe the throttle body is dirty , air filter clogged, vacumm leak , pcv valve clogged, check for those.

press odometer reset/adjustment and hold, hold in and turn key to run position. Keep holding in the reset shaft in for about 30 seconds. release button. turn key off. restart car. service light should go off in about 5 seconds.

then do the nav screen reset like i said above.

GeeCastle 01-16-2013 09:14 AM

I tried it but im not sure if I did it right cause my car doesnt have the odometer shaft I have to press the button on my steering wheel is that the same thing?

GeeCastle 01-16-2013 09:15 AM

Is this somthing major I have to worry about though?

SharksBreath 01-16-2013 09:22 AM

^yeah i would say any CEL is something to worry about.

try clearing the code with the nav screen method i outlined and see if it goes away.
