Are EL42's on 6MT also?
Should be taking delivery on my 6 speed TL in 3 weeks. Read somewhere that 6MT come with Potenza's. Is this true or should I expect to see the dreaded EL42's?

When I got my 6MT it came with the optional Potenzas.
Your dealer will know which tires are going to be on the car by the price listed on his order sheet. When I put a deposit down 5 weeks before I got the car there was an issue because I didn’t want the Potenzas, so the dealer gave them to me at no charge.

I have the EL42's and haven't noticed any problems.

It is realy up to you, you have the most leverage now before you put any miles on the car.

Here in Indy, I didn't note any noticeable flat-spotting during the colder months this past winter season and I think the EL42 is an adequate OEM tire. I know others have serious issues with the tires but keep in mind that their are countless others that think the OEM tire is adequate and fine. Will I replace with OEM again? No...but they aren't "dreaded" IMO.
In NY, you might want to reconsider any thoughts of getting the Potenza's on your TL. With the wintery season, those might not be the best tire for your car.
I found the EL42's in the wintery mix to have adequate grip and traction during our few snowfalls and more grip than my Saab 9-3 SE with Michelin HX MXM's (and I know these were a summer touring tire I believe so that would make sense).
