edmunds.com "prices paid" threads
Hi all ... first few posts here as I'm investigating replacing my 2004 Audi S4 with a TL. I'm trying to figure out what I might expect to pay for a 2006 TL w/o Navi, and the first place I looked was edmunds.com's Prices Paid board. The prices people are posting there are extremely low. So low, in fact, that I can't believe some of them. For example:
$30,150 including destination for non navi
$32,500 including destination for navi
$31,900 including destination for navi
$32,005 including destination for naviThe best I've been able to find so far in MN is $31,700 for a 6sp non-navi.
Is that inline with what I might expect? I saw the "owner's registration" page, and prices displayed there seem more inline with what I'm seeing.
Thoughts?

Welcome to the board! You might search for "price paid" in the search engine as this is a frequently discussed topic.
You also have to remember that price varies widely nationally. In an area with few Acura dealers, there is likely to be little wiggle room on price, and to get a good deal you might have to drive for hours. Northeast Ohio, where I live, is such a place, though since a new dealer opened last year, the situation has improved.
OTOH, in places like SoCal, where Acura dealers are a dime a dozen, they're likelier to deal.

I too did some price research on edmunds.com back in July 05. I forgot the TMV (True market value) but I know I got my TL around $500 more than the TMV price. That was just the car itself. As for options (if you plan on getting) I negotiate my options seperate from the car. I got an awesome deal for everything. Edmunds helped out a lot as well as my 02 RSX-S. My dealer is only 2 miles away.
Good luck

I'm kind of inclined to think that they may have gotten ripped off on their trade in, and got what they think was a great deal on the new car.

I happen to be the person who bought an 06 TL anthracite metallic/ ebony leather 5AT w/Nav for $31990 +CA Tax. It was truely a good deal.
Date bought: 1/2/2006
Dealership: Glendale CA
Only glich is that it comes with 158 miles on it and Turenza EL42 tires.
