Ebay Trunk Lip?

Anyone has any experience with these? I'm thinking about getting one but since the factory ones has the screws to bolt it down but this just uses tape.

I use 3m tape with ACURA TL-S spoiler I got from Tim @ hondacuraworld.com

This is the one I bought and it was excellent. And the tape supplied worked fine.

kewl, thanks everyone - that was the one I originally looked at so I think I'll go with it. Did you guys get it paint matched? If so, how was the paint quality and color match?

My dealership wants $450 installed for one of these. Does the 3M do the job as I don't want to drill into the trunk lid myself?

3M does great .. wipe the area clean with rubbing alcohol first for a good bond.

^ i agree. i have the same spoiler from this seller, looks and fits great, installed with just 3m tape..go with that one

just to be clear...

the lip is supposed to be installed with tape AND bolts...

but most of you here have had success with JUST tape?

NO BOLTS....just tape. I have had this one on my NBP for almost 2 yrs. holding strong. Paint is not as smooth as factory but you can't really notice (and I am EXREMELY anal about paint!). Great product for the price (instead of $350-$400 for oem)., but side by side, you can see the difference.

Another question - is the type-S lip different from the stock lip? It's hard to tell from the pics online since they are mostly from different angles. I'm asking because Hondaacuraworld.com has both listed as separate items:

Base model deck lid is different than the Type S one, Type S deck spoiler is a bit bigger and curves downwards on the trunk.

Here is what it looks like with all its hardware.



and here are a couple of test fit picture on an 06 TL.

I purchased one from the spoilerstore as well. Paint matches great and the 3M tape is holding well. I'm happy with it.

@JNC - ah, so I'm not seeing things, i did notice the wrapping down on the trunk bit but wasn't sure if it was the angle.

^^ ? That is a TL-S deck lid spoiler, it may look different since its just sitting on the trunk rather than being properly mounted.
