Dupli-color shadow (Black chrome)
Like must of you I've tried alot of different options to change the chrome on the emblems and i finally found what I think looks the best.
First i did plastidip, While i did like the matte finish it really was just to black and blended into the car. I then went with a gloss black plastic paint and that also looked great but again just had no contrast and blended in. So while wachting speed TV one day i saw an add for the Dupli-color Shadow and decided to give it a try. I must say I did have to redo them 4 or 5 times to get them to look right and I'm still really only happy with the A emblem as it never laid right on the TL or S logo. I think it's dew to there overall size.
The bar above the back up cam came out dull because while i was prepping everything a friend of mine started sanding it down as you normally would, But with this product you DO NOT sand off the finish. Actually you want to clean it and get it as shiny as you can before applying the base coat. The clear coat seams to be pretty thick and strong so next I'm going to do the front and see if it holds up to the road. Pic's aren't great took them with my iPhone.

Looks really good man! I saw that commercial too, looks good on the wheels they worked on as well. This might be in my future if I want to touch up the emblems. Thanks for sharing!

Looks good; I do notice how the TL and Type-S looks like it didn't lay right like the OP said. They almost look grainy? Can't tell from the far away pictures though. How did you treat the Type-S emblem without affecting the "TYPE" and red background of the emblem. Did you tape off portions of the emblem when spraying?
I wonder what it would look like with the front grill and hood trim sprayed? I might be interested in doing that if it looks decent. The factory black chrome just doesn't seem very "black" to me.

Not bad, but paint it too finicky to work with. It's too easy to screw it up, plus to do it right you need to remove the emblems and then remount them, etc. I really prefer the darkened chrome look over the stock chrome emblems though. If I were to do this, I'd probably get the dark chrome emblems from Heel Toe.
