Dropped screwdriver bit while changing air filter

I changed the air filter today on my TL and while trying to get one of the screws holding the filter housing out, I managed to drop the screwdriver bit like this one:

It didn't drop far, but I could see or find it and I feel pretty stupid about it.

I started the car hoping it's somewhere close that it could be shaken off and drove around my drive way. No luck.

I assume it will eventually find it's way out, but is there any danger of it getting somewhere it shouldn't on that side of engine?

Also found this little guy under the filter:

cute little guy!

if it dropped some where down in the engine bay, you'll be fine.
just like the cute little mouse you found, it'll just stay in the area that it fell in.

if you're really determined, you can take a magnetic pick up tool down in the bay to fish/search for it.

how does one edit a post? i don't see any links/buttons to edit. I said that I could see the bit, but I meant to say that I couldn't. it did sound like it dropped far. It dropped to the right side of the filter housing, but not where it could be seen.

but it looks like it's not a big deal anyway.

thanks.

next time just use a socket and a extension or a long Philips screwdriver. Less likely to drop it compared to a bit
