Question "Drop Stop" Review (merged threads)

Ok guys, lets keep the making fun to a minimum.Does anyone have the "drop stop" in their TL?

[Link deleted: unathorized advertising]

At first i was like how stupid but you know, i drop my blackberry down next to my seat about once a week and almost kill myself while trying to drive and get it out. So anyone have a set? are they noticeable in the car? I dont mind paying $20 to never have to jam my hand down next to my console again.

I guess it would also help keep the area on the sides of the seat clean too.

looks like a piece of house water pipe insulaton foam wrap for copper pipes
polystyrene-urethane whatever

Its soft-spongy and shoves in places like next to the seat-
think I will grab a $2 piece and fix up my car!!

I have 2 sets, if you try it on the 2004+ TL's it won't fit between the seats since ours are already really close together. Tried it on my Lexus and it barely fit and had to really push it in. So I took it out and it fit really well on the RAV4.

So no, I won't recommend it for our TLs. SUVs? sure but not the tl. Now i have an extra set sitting around waiting for the next car I buy lol.

Edit: Maybe I can get some photos tomorrow.

I keep my car clean and don't eat and am careful not to drop anything ever down there.

What I could use though is something to keep my iPod from sliding off the center console into my leg. It won't fall off because it's wired but it slides all over when I'm turning hard. I found a temporary solution and it's to slide the armrest up so the iPod is sort of tucked underneath it...

I bought a Anti-Slip Mat at Walgreens for $6 just for that purpose. It's matte black and works great.

Happens to me a lot.. I feel like I'm fishing it by pulling slowly by the cable so it wont disconnect and fall by the seat!

Have had the key fall a couple of times.. I need to remove any jewelry from the hand to be able to get it out :/

Acura should have made that AUX input in one of the two spaces below the radio..

I hope this isn't like when you order the Simoniz Fix It Pen (https://www.fixitscratch.com)and then they send you a whole bunch of "Free" shit, like how they send you the turbo vac and all that other crap. its "free" but you pay for "shipping", and then that fix it pen ended up costing much more than you expected.

I hope nobody ordered this for the third gen TL because I can't even drop a french fry or my ipod touch between the cracks where the seat belt buckle goes. Seriously, go take a look in the car first.

I know my wife is always dropping something between the seat and center console. What a pain to get the vacuum in there. Even with the attachment. This sounds like a good solution.

+1 done that before. Or if my BB is in my pocket and I'm wearing like mesh shorts or sweat pants, I've accelerated hard once and it slid out of my pocket and right into the gap

sounds like a great product, but does anyone have a solution that's in stores? Or more of a homemade solution?

Thumbs up The unofficial DROP STOP review

First off thanks to Marc Newburger, the inventor of Drop Stop ® for providing me a set to review. When i first saw this infomercial i thought it was a waste of money. but once i dropped something down the crack in between our console and seat i changed my opinion. I end up dropping my blackberry down there ever week and but no more!

[Link deleted: unauthorized advertising.]

I know what you are thinking...$20 for some foam but when you look at the product, there is no way you could have this made for less than that. all the materials look and feel high quality, neoprene - wetsuit material, good stitching, good design. One member said it wouldn't fit in his TL, wrong! These things will give alot and conform to the shape just fine. They arent even noticeable once you get them in. They dont stick out past the front of the seat.

Bottom line, they do the job. I give it a thumbs up cause i will never almost kill myself again trying to dig something out of my crack!

Oh and the sticky mat and light are a nice bonus.

Do they increase the strain on the motor because of the friction, or does everything operates just fine?

igor i think because of the natural forces of the sun n moon on the last day of the equinox and the 6th planets alignment in the universe of murphys law and geometric transfunctioners it may actually cause the motor to melt.

Evan...thanks for the wonderful review. So glad you liked them, and I appreciate you starting this thread.

Because of the interest coming from Acurazine, we have just become a sponsor, and will be able to set up Group Buys, post links, etc...so look for us in the general forum, and perhaps a few other places around Acurazine.

As now my account does not receive PM messages...but that should be remedied by days end...so for now...please feel free to respond here in the thread.

Thanks for all the interest!
