Exclamation Does this thing really work...turbonator?

I'm new to this forum, but I've enjoyed alot of the post here. I was wondering if anyone here bought the Turbonator (there's a link on this site somewhere) for their TL. I've recently purchased my 06 TL, and I saw the link to the Turbonator web site so I decided to check it out.

If you bought one, can you answer some questions for me:

1. Does it work?
2. What does it ACTUALLY DO?
3. Can you feel any difference in the performance?
4. Does it increase you MPG?
5. Does it make any funny sound?
6. Is it easily remove/install?

I was thinking of buying an intake system, but I want to keep my car OEM as much as possible. I would appreciate any inputs you have. BTW, if you know of any intake system that either uses or closely resembles the factory box, please let me know and if possible, post a link. Thank you.

Yes, I bought one. The only thing good about it was that it was easy to install. Took less than 10 minutes. Does it work? Well, I've been waiting for 2 months now, so far I'm still waiting. What does it do? Siphons the money out of your checking account. Does it make any sound? Yes, me screaming how stupid I was to buy this thing in the first place!

This was among several snake-oil devices that make such claims that were debunked by Popular Mechanics (?) a few months ago. Essentially, this one claims to create turbulence in your intake manifold as if that's a good thing. It isn't.

When evaluating such devices, ask yourself, "If it's such a cheap way to squeeze out more performance, why didn't the car's manufacturer build it into the intake system?" The answer is, "Because it doesn't work and may even reduce performance."

Dude I installed this thing into my car and I feel big gains across the whole RPM range. I thought man is this just me.

So I went and picked up my friends Fred green alien, big foot and the loch ness sea monster and took them for a spin. They all agreed it was faster. So the gains I am feeling just can’t be in my mind.

I'm going to close this because the turbonator is too good to advertise and they might run out before I get mine. :j/k:

SloMo: If you have more questions about the intake system, please start a new thread or post in an existing thread with that topic.
